Side Windows and Sliding Sunroof Operation
Operating the Side Windows
- 1. To close
- 2. To open
- The buttons on the driver's door take precedence.
- To start automatic operation: press the button beyond the point of resistance or pull and release it.
- To interrupt automatic operation: press or pull the button again.
- When the vehicle is switched off, you can continue to operate the side windows for around four minutes or until a front door is opened.
Automatic Reversing Function of Side Windows
If an obstacle impedes a side window during closing, it will open again automatically. This is only an aid, not a substitute for attentiveness.
WARNING: Risk of becoming trapped despite reversing protection. The reversing function does not react to soft, light, or thin objects (e.g., fingers) or during resetting.
- During closing, ensure no body parts are in the closing area.
- If someone becomes trapped, press the button to open the side window again.
Convenience Opening (Ventilating Before Journey)
WARNING: Risk of entrapment when opening a side window. Ensure nobody touches the window. Release the button immediately if someone becomes trapped.
- Press and hold the button on the key. Functions performed:
- The vehicle is unlocked
- Side windows are opened
- Sliding sunroof is opened
- Panoramic sliding roof is opened
- Driver's seat ventilation is switched on
- % Roller sunblind of the panoramic sliding sunroof is opened first if closed.
- To interrupt convenience opening: release the button.
- To continue: press and hold the button again.
Convenience Closing (Closing Vehicle from Outside)
WARNING: Risk of entrapment during convenience closing. Monitor the process and ensure no body parts are in the closing area.
- Press and hold the button on the SmartKey. Functions performed:
- The vehicle is locked
- Side windows are closed
- Sliding sunroof is closed
- Panoramic sliding roof is closed
- To interrupt: release the button.
- To continue: press and hold the button again.

Resolving Problems with Side Windows
WARNING: Risk of injury if reversing protection is not activated. Side window may close with maximum force immediately after being blocked.
- Ensure no body parts are in the closing area.
- To stop closing, release or press the button again.
- If window cannot be closed, check for objects in the window guide and adjust the window.
Adjusting Side Windows
- If obstructed and reopens immediately, pull and hold the button until the window is closed and hold for at least one more second (re-adjustment).
