Parking the Vehicle
& WARNING Risk of accident and injury caused by an insufficiently secured vehicle rolling away: If the vehicle is not securely parked, it can roll away even on a slight downhill gradient.
On uphill or downhill gradients, turn the front wheels so the vehicle rolls toward the curb if it starts moving.
Apply the parking brake.
Switch the transmission to position j.
& WARNING Risk of fire caused by hot exhaust system parts: Flammable materials like leaves, grass, or twigs may ignite.
Park so that no flammable material comes into contact with hot vehicle components.
Do not park on dry grassland or harvested grain fields.
& WARNING Risk of accident and injury due to children left unattended in the vehicle: Children may open doors, endangering others or themselves.
Fuel Type Warnings
Never refuel with:
Diesel
Gasoline with more than 10% ethanol by volume (E15, E85, E100)
Gasoline with more than 3% methanol by volume (M15, M30, M85, M100)
Gasoline with additives containing metal
If you accidentally refuel with the wrong fuel:
Do not switch on the vehicle.
Consult a qualified specialist workshop.
* NOTE: Do not use diesel in a gasoline engine vehicle. Fuel and engine damage is possible; consult a workshop and drain fuel completely.
* NOTE: Only fill until pump nozzle switches off to avoid overfilling.
* NOTE: Fuel may spray when removing the pump nozzle; fill only until it stops automatically.
Requirements
The vehicle must be unlocked.
% Do not get into the vehicle again during refueling, otherwise electrostatic charge could build up.
Observe the notes on operating fluids and fuel.
Only refuel with fuel that meets the octane number specified in the label inside the fuel filler flap. Otherwise, engine output may be reduced and fuel consumption increased.
