Interior and Ambient Lighting
Interior Lighting Switches
- 1c: Switches the front interior lighting on/off
- 2u: Switches the rear interior lighting on/off
- 3|: Switches automatic interior lighting control on/off
To switch reading lamps on/off: hold your hand under the respective reading lamp 4 or 5.
Operating Unit Inside the Grab Handle (Rear Passenger Compartment)
- 1p: Rear passenger compartment reading lamp – press 1 to switch on/off

Setting the Color
- Select Color
- Select Monochrome or Multi-color
- Set the desired color or combination
Adjusting the Brightness
- Select Brightness
- Adjust the brightness
Depending on ambient light, lighting switches automatically between day and night modes.
Activating Brightness for Zones
- Select Brightness → Switch off Link Zones
- Direct, Indirect, and Accent zones can now be set separately
Activating Effects
WARNING: Risk of accident despite activated ambient lighting effects. Functions must be activated in the driver assist menu.
- Select Effects → Activate the desired effect
- Effects may vary depending on vehicle equipment.
Operating Feedback Effects
- Climate: Color briefly changes when temperature setting is adjusted.
- Welcome Message: High-resolution greeting or farewell when vehicle is opened/locked; choose Digital Rain or Flowing Lines sequences.
Warning Assistance Effects
- Warning When Exiting: Ambient lighting flashes red if object detected in blind spot. (See page 211)
- Speed Limit Assist: Ambient lighting flashes red behind steering wheel when speed exceeded. (See page 190)
- Parking Assist PARKTRONIC: Color feedback from parking sensors displayed during maneuvers. (See page 225)
