The vehicle moves out of the parking space. The turn signal indicator is automatically switched on when exiting begins and off when completed. You are responsible for selecting the turn signal indicator according to traffic conditions.
After the parking space has been exited, a warning tone and the Active Parking Assist Finished: Take Control of Vehicle message prompt you to take control of the vehicle. You must accelerate, brake, steer, and change gear yourself. If you do not react, the system will brake the vehicle to a standstill.
You can interrupt the parking or exiting procedure by:
To resume, gently depress the accelerator pedal. If the electric parking brake was applied before activation, lightly depress the pedal to start. Always check the area around the vehicle before resuming.
Persons or objects in the maneuvering range may cause the vehicle to brake sharply and hold at a standstill. Depressing the accelerator resumes the procedure. Check surroundings before resuming and observe system limitations.
Drive Away Assist reduces impact severity when pulling away by reducing speed to ~1 mph (2 km/h) if an obstacle is detected.
