Rear Seats, Roof Luggage Rack, and Sockets

Folding Back the Rear Seat Backrest
  • Press release catch 3.
  • Fold seat backrest 2 forwards.

NOTE: Damage caused by trapping the seat belt. Ensure the seat belt is not trapped when folding back the seat backrest.

  • Move the driver's or front passenger seat forwards, if necessary.
  • Swing seat backrest 1 back until it engages. If not engaged, the red lock verification indicator 2 will be visible.
Locking and Releasing Center Rear Seat Backrest

You can lock the center seat backrest release catch to secure the trunk. The center seat can then fold forwards only together with the left seat backrest.

  • To lock or unlock: slide catch 1 upwards or downwards.
Tie-Down Eyes

Observe the notes on loading the vehicle. Four tie-down eyes are available only in vehicles equipped with the through-loading feature in the rear bench seat (EASY-PACK Quickfold).

Bag Hooks

WARNING: Risk of injury when using bag hooks with heavy objects. Only hang light objects on bag hooks. Never hang hard, sharp-edged, or fragile objects. Maximum load: 3 kg (6.6 lbs).

Roof Luggage Rack

WARNING: Risk of accident due to exceeding maximum roof load. Do not exceed the maximum roof load; adjust driving style accordingly. Maximum roof load info is in "Technical data".

NOTE: Damage may occur if maximum permitted headroom clearance is exceeded. Observe posted headroom clearance and add-on roof equipment.

NOTE: Use only Mercedes-Benz approved roof luggage racks. Ensure sliding sunroof can fully raise and trunk lid fully opens with roof rack installed. Position load safely.

NOTE: Panorama roof with power tilt/sliding panel may be damaged by non-approved roof luggage racks. Only open if approved for Mercedes-Benz.

NOTE: Sliding sunroof may be damaged when roof luggage rack is installed. Do not open the sliding sunroof when rack is installed. For ventilation, raise sunroof carefully.

NOTE: Covers may be damaged or scratched. Do not use metallic or hard objects; carefully fold covers 1 upwards. Secure roof luggage rack to fastening points and load safely.

Sockets
12 V Socket
  • Requirements: Connect only devices up to 180 W (15 A).
  • Locations: Front passenger footwell and electronics compartment in rear passenger center console (depending on equipment).
  • Example: 12 V socket in front passenger footwell. Fold up socket cap 1 and insert the plug of the device.
115 V Socket in Rear Passenger Compartment

DANGER: Risk of fatal injuries due to damaged connecting cable or socket. Use only dry and undamaged cables. Ensure socket is dry when vehicle is off. Have damaged sockets checked or replaced immediately. Never plug in damaged cables or sockets.
