Climate Control System
Climate Bar Overview (3-Zone Automatic Climate Control)
- s – Increases the temperature
- Upper display area – shows climate control on/off and synchronization function
- ¬ – Defrosts the windshield
- ¿ – Activates/deactivates the A/C function
- ¤ – Switches the rear window heater on/off
- r – Reduces the temperature
- g – Switches air-recirculation mode on/off
- ± – Calls up the air conditioning menu
- A – Sets climate control to automatic mode
- B – Increases the airflow or switches on climate control
- C – Reduces the airflow or switches off climate control
The availability of individual functions depends on the country and vehicle equipment.
Rear Operating Unit (Example: USA)
- 1 – Sets air distribution to center and side vents, left
- 2 – Sets temperature, left
- 3 – Sets airflow, left, or switches climate control on/off
- 4 – Switches climate control on/off
- 5 – Sets airflow, right, or switches climate control on/off
- 6 – Sets temperature, right
- 7 – Sets air distribution to center and side vents, right
- 8 – Sets rear climate control to automatic mode, right
- 9 – Sets air distribution to right rear footwell vents
- A – Synchronization activated
- B – Sets air distribution to rear left footwell vents
- C – Sets rear climate control to automatic mode, left
Operating Climate Control
Switching Climate Control On/Off
- On: Set airflow to level 1 or higher via the climate bar or press Ã, s, r, or ±
- Off: Set airflow to level 0 via the climate bar or press j
Note: Switching off climate control may cause faster window fogging.
Rear Climate Control
- On: Press button 4, or set airflow ≥ 1 using buttons 3 & 5, or press 2, 6, 8, or C
- Off: Press button 4, or set airflow = 0 using buttons 3 & 5
Air Distribution & Automatic Mode
- Set air distribution using the multimedia system (First or Second Row of Seats)
- Set airflow accordingly
- Automatic mode maintains interior temperature; airflow can be adjusted manually if desired
Air-Recirculation Mode
- Press g on climate bar or multimedia system to activate recirculation
- Automatically switches to fresh air after a while
- Note: Only activate briefly to prevent faster window fogging
Residual Heat Mode
- Available if vehicle is parked and coolant temperature is high
- Switch on/off via "Residual Heat" on climate bar
- Automatically switches off after some time
Ionization
- Improves interior air quality; only works with AUTO mode or side air vent open
- Activate via multimedia system: Climate Menu → Air Quality → Ionization
Fragrance System
- Distributes fragrance from flacon in glove box
- Activate/deactivate via multimedia system: Climate Menu → Air Quality → Air Freshener
- Set intensity by holding "Fragrance" until desired level is reached
- Insert/remove flacon: slide in/out of holder after opening glove box
- WARNING: Keep children away from flacon; rinse eyes/skin if contact occurs; seek medical attention if ingested
