Operating the Outside Mirrors
Selecting and Adjusting Mirrors
- Use button 2 or 4 to select the desired mirror
- Use button 1 to adjust the position of the selected mirror
Folding the Outside Mirrors In/Out (Vehicles with Electrically Folding Mirrors)
If the battery has been disconnected or discharged, the outside mirrors must be moved briefly using button 3. Only then will the automatic mirror folding function work properly.
Engaging the Outside Mirrors
- Vehicles without electrically folding mirrors: manually move the mirror into the correct position
- Vehicles with electrically folding mirrors: press and hold button 3 until a click is heard; mirror is now correctly positioned
Automatic Anti-Glare Mirrors Function
WARNING: Risk of acid burns and poisoning due to anti-glare mirror electrolyte. Electrolyte may escape if the glass breaks and is hazardous to health. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, respiratory organs, clothing, or ingestion.
- If contact occurs: rinse skin or eyes thoroughly with water and seek medical attention
- If swallowed: rinse mouth thoroughly, do not induce vomiting, seek medical attention
- Change contaminated clothing immediately
- Seek medical attention immediately if allergic reaction occurs
The inside rearview mirror and the driver's side outside mirror will automatically go into anti-glare mode when headlamp light hits the sensor on the inside rearview mirror.
System Limits
- System will not go into anti-glare mode if vehicle is switched off
- System will not operate if reverse gear is engaged
- System will not operate if interior lighting is switched on
Front-Passenger Outside Mirror Parking Position Function
The parking position makes parking easier by swiveling the mirror downwards towards the rear wheel on the front-passenger side.
- Mirror will swivel down when parking position is stored, front-passenger mirror is selected, and reverse gear is engaged
- Mirror returns to original position when transmission is shifted, vehicle speed exceeds 9 mph (15 km/h), or the driver's side mirror button is pressed
Storing the Front-Passenger Outside Mirror Parking Position Using Reverse Gear
Storing
- Select the front-passenger mirror using button 2
- Engage reverse gear
- Move the mirror to the desired parking position using button 1
Calling Up
- Select the front-passenger mirror using button 2
- Engage reverse gear → mirror moves to stored parking position
Activating/Deactivating the Automatic Mirror Folding Function
Multimedia system: 4 © 5 Settings → Vehicle → Opening/Closing
- Switch Automatic Mirror Folding on or off
Area Permeable to Radio Waves on the Windshield
Radio-controlled equipment (e.g., toll systems) can only be mounted in areas 1 of the windshield that are permeable to radio waves. These areas are most visible from outside when illuminated with an external light source.
Note this position for vehicles with windshield heating.
