Tesla Cybertruck 2025-2026 Touchscreen Alerts

Touchscreen Alerts

If an alert appears on your vehicle's touchscreen, touch Learn More for more details regarding the alert and how it can be resolved (see Troubleshooting Alerts on page 259). You can view a list of vehicle alerts and notifications by touching the bell icon at the top of Controls.

NOTE: Not all alerts provide additional information at this time.

Restarting the Touchscreen

You can restart your touchscreen if it is unresponsive or demonstrates unusual behavior.

WARNING: Only restart the touchscreen while the vehicle is stopped and in Park. The vehicle status display, safety warnings, backup camera, etc. will not be visible during the restart.
  1. Shift into Park.
  2. Hold down both scroll buttons on the steering wheel until the touchscreen turns black.
  3. Wait approximately 30 seconds for the touchscreen to restart. If the touchscreen is still unresponsive or demonstrating unusual behavior after a few minutes, try power cycling the vehicle if possible (see Starting and Powering Off on page 73).

NOTE: Restarting the touchscreen also activates the drive mode selector on the overhead console.

NOTE: Pressing the scroll buttons only restarts the touchscreen. It does not restart any other vehicle component and does not power the vehicle off and on.

Rear Touchscreen

NOTE: Depending on market region, configuration, and vehicle manufacture date, your vehicle may not be equipped with a rear touchscreen.

The rear touchscreen provides rear passengers with access to the following features:

  1. Fan Speed: Touch the arrows to decrease or increase the fan speed.
  2. Power: Turn the rear climate control system on or off.
  3. Climate: Turn the rear fan on or off and control airflow direction from the rear vents.
  4. Seats: Control rear seat heaters and move the front passenger seat forward or backward.
  5. Media: Play, pause, skip, or rewind the currently playing song.
  6. Video: Access video streaming services.
  7. Arcade: Play video games on the rear touchscreen.
  8. Settings: Pair up to two sets of Bluetooth headphones, change brightness, or clean the display.
  9. Volume: Adjust the audio volume.

NOTE: You can also use the front touchscreen to adjust climate settings in the rear cabin.

NOTE: Connect headphones to listen to audio from the rear touchscreen. The vehicle supports up to two Bluetooth devices at a time.

NOTE: Adjusting the media and volume controls also adjusts the front cabin settings.

Rear Screen Remote Control

To control the rear screen from the front display, open the rear screen remote control app from the app launcher. In addition to audio, video, and climate controls, you can lock the rear display in the app or by touching Controls > Display > Lock Rear Display.

Customizing My Apps

For quick access to commonly used apps and controls, you can customize what appears in the My Apps area on the touchscreen's bottom bar:

  1. Enter customization mode by touching and holding any app or control in the My Apps area. If the area is empty, touch the app launcher (ellipsis icon).
  2. Drag your desired app or control from the app tray into the My Apps area in the bottom bar.

NOTE: Controls such as defrosters and seat heaters appear in the app tray only when customization mode is active.

Remove an app or control from My Apps by touching and holding it, then selecting the X. If you add more apps than allowed, the rightmost app is automatically removed.

Naming Your Vehicle

To personalize your vehicle, you can assign a name. Touch Controls > Software > Name Your Vehicle on the right side of the touchscreen below the vehicle image.

If the vehicle already has a name, touch it to change it, enter the new name, and select Save. The vehicle name also appears in the mobile app.

Erasing Personal Data

To remove all personal data and restore factory settings, touch Controls > Service > Factory Reset. This is useful when transferring ownership of the vehicle.

Before erasing, the system verifies your credentials by requesting the username and password associated with your account.

Vehicle Status Overview

The touchscreen displays the status of the vehicle at all times. What appears depends on whether the vehicle is:

  • Parked
  • Driving
  • Charging

When parked, the status area shows drive mode, estimated range, adjustable settings, and a visual view of the vehicle with buttons to open the tonneau cover (if equipped), tailgate, powered frunk, and charge port door.

When you press the brake pedal, the vehicle powers up and indicator lights flash briefly. If a light remains on or fails to illuminate correctly, schedule a service appointment.

Cards

The bottom of the vehicle status display shows shortcut cards for quick access to media, tire pressure information, trip data, and more. Swipe left or right to customize these shortcuts.

Indicator Lights

The following indicator lights may appear to advise or alert you about vehicle status or conditions.

USA and Mexico:

If the touchscreen displays a red brake indicator at any time other than briefly during startup, a brake system fault may be detected or the brake fluid level may be low. Contact service immediately. Apply steady pressure to the brake pedal to safely stop the vehicle.

Canada:

If the red brake indicator appears other than briefly during startup, a brake system fault may be detected or brake fluid level may be low. Contact service immediately.
