Tesla Cybertruck 2025-2026 Installing Brackets onto the Appliques

Installing Brackets onto the Appliques

  1. Open all 8 applique doors, or only the doors corresponding to the crossbar locations.
  2. Use the torque wrench to loosen and remove the nuts fastened to the threaded studs inside the applique doors.
  3. Install a bracket with the raised arrow pointing outward. Align it with the threaded studs and set in place.
  4. Reinstall and tighten the nuts removed in step 2 with the torque wrench.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for the remaining applique doors.

NOTE: Once installed, brackets can remain for future use unless moving crossbars. Improperly secured appliques may fall off; Tesla is not responsible for damage or loss.

Installing Crossbars

NOTE: Requires two people. Crossbars must be installed in tandem to prevent damage. Ensure accessories are secured and periodically checked. Front-most crossbar installation requires caution to avoid pinching passenger-side power feed harness.

  1. Locate the FRONT arrow on the bottom of the crossbar pointing forward.
  2. Lower one tower onto the bracket, extend the crossbar to align the opposite tower with the bracket on the other side.
  3. Use the key to open tower doors and push down to seat both towers.
  4. Close tower doors securely with key until a “click” is felt. If resistance occurs, reopen, reposition, and close again.
  5. Repeat on the other side of the crossbar.
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 for the second crossbar in front of or behind the first.
  7. Test secure installation by pushing/pulling crossbars in all directions. Re-seat if movement occurs.

NOTE: Keep the key in a safe, dry place. Crossbars support up to 220 lb (100 kg) per set.

Full Self-Driving (Supervised)

Full Self-Driving (Supervised) allows Cybertruck to navigate roads, intersections, and highways using camera inputs and onboard computing. Driver must remain attentive at all times. Features include lane following, intersection negotiation, turning, and roundabout navigation.

WARNING: Driver intervention may be required in certain situations. Full Self-Driving (Supervised) requires full attention and readiness to take control. Misuse may cause serious injury or death.

Enabling Full Self-Driving (Supervised)

  1. Enable FSD while Cybertruck is parked: Controls > Autopilot > Full Self-Driving (Supervised) > Yes.
  2. (Optional) Customize settings:
    • Speed Profile: Sloth, Chill, Standard, Hurry, Mad Max.
    • Use HOV lanes: Yes/No.
  3. Ensure cameras are unobstructed and calibrated.
  4. Download latest maps for greater accuracy.

WARNING: Do not enable FSD if any rear-mounted accessory obstructs cameras. Performance may be degraded or unavailable.

Choosing a Speed Profile

Profiles determine driving speed and lane-change behavior:

  • Sloth: Under speed limit
  • Chill: Slower lanes, minimal lane changes
  • Standard: Normal speed, matches traffic flow
  • Hurry: Faster, more frequent lane changes
  • Mad Max: Faster than Hurry, most frequent lane changes

Starting Full Self-Driving (Supervised)

Activate at speeds below 85 mph (140 km/h) using the right scroll button. Full Self-Driving displays in blue on the touchscreen with profile.

  1. From touchscreen: Controls > Tap to Start FSD (Supervised).
  2. (Optional) Enter a destination; Cybertruck chooses probable path if none provided.
  3. Touch Start Self-Driving and, if prompted, press brake pedal to begin navigation.

Canceling Full Self-Driving (Supervised)

Disengage by pressing brake, right scroll button, or manually taking over. FSD will also disengage if:

  • Shift out of Drive
  • Door or tailgate opens
  • Automatic Emergency Braking occurs
  • Driver leaves seat or seat belt unbuckled
  • Driver fails to respond to attention reminders
  • FSD becomes unavailable (e.g., camera blocked)

Driver Attentiveness

Cabin camera monitors attentiveness. Green indicator shows active monitoring. Driver must pay attention to road and steering prompts.

WARNING: Ignoring attention prompts disables Autopilot for the remainder of the drive.
