WARNING: The high voltage system must be serviced only by a trained technician. Do not disassemble, remove, or replace high voltage components, cables, or connectors. High voltage cables are typically colored orange for easy identification.
WARNING: Read and follow all instructions provided on the labels attached to Cybertruck. These labels are for your safety.
WARNING: In the unlikely event of a fire, exit the vehicle, move at least 100 ft (30 meters) away, and immediately contact local fire emergency responders.
Charging equipment designed specifically for your Cybertruck is available from Tesla. For information about charging equipment in your region, visit Tesla Shop.
Superchargers, destination charging, and other fast-charging stations are available for travel.
Cybertruck uses a 48V lithium-ion low voltage battery to power windows, doors, touchscreen, and other systems when the high voltage Battery is unavailable. It also provides redundant power for critical systems such as power steering.
NOTE: 48V low voltage connectors are blue, and wires operating at 48V are marked with blue tape. Using a 48V battery instead of 12V improves efficiency.
WARNING: Low voltage components are always energized. Do not handle cables or connectors while powered; risk of injury or damage exists.
To preserve the high voltage Battery, leave your vehicle plugged in when not in use. The vehicle periodically uses energy for system tests and low voltage battery charging. There is no advantage to waiting until the Battery is low to charge. Avoid discharging to 0% to prevent damage.
The peak charging rate may decrease after multiple DC Fast Charging sessions. Use Trip Planner to warm the Battery en route to Superchargers for faster charging.
Battery warranty covers tips you may not follow. More info: Tesla Vehicle Warranty
Avoid exposing Cybertruck to ambient temperatures above 140° F (60° C) or below -22° F (-30° C) for more than 24 hours.
If exposed to flooding or submerged, treat as an accident. See Submerged Vehicle Guidance on page 258. Intentional water entry differs; use Wade Mode. Damage from water is not covered under warranty.
WARNING: High voltage system must be serviced only by trained technicians. Never open or tamper with the Battery. High voltage cables are orange for identification.
CAUTION: If Battery falls to 0%, plug it in to prevent permanent damage. Owner maintenance is not required; do not remove coolant filler cap or add fluid.
The charge port is above the driver's side rear wheel. With the vehicle in Park and a valid key nearby, press the Tesla cable button to open the port.
Other methods:
The Cybertruck icon lights up white when the port is open. If no cable is inserted within a few minutes, the door closes automatically.
NOTE: In cold/icy conditions, the charge port latch may freeze. Thaw by using rear defrost, mobile app defrost, or charge port heater under Controls > Service. Schedule preconditioning to prevent freezing.
CAUTION: Do not force the charge port door open.
Use the touchscreen to change charge limit and current. For public stations without NACS connector, use adapter. With Mobile Connector, plug into the power outlet before the vehicle.
Insert the connector fully; charging begins automatically after Cybertruck:
Charging is recommended while vehicle is not in use to maintain optimal Battery level.
