Tesla Cybertruck 2025-2026 Accessing the Power Feed in the Powered Frunk

Accessing the Power Feed in the Powered Frunk

NOTE: Depending on date of manufacture, vehicle configuration, or market region, the power feeds on Cybertruck may look or operate differently.

Steps to Access the Power Feed

  1. Open the powered frunk (see Powered Frunk on page 57).
  2. Ensure that Cybertruck is powered off (see Powering Off on page 73). WARNING: Failure to power off can cause serious injury. Wear appropriate PPE.
  3. Remove the frunk maintenance panel by pulling upwards to release trim clips.
  4. Remove the two bump stops above the headlights by turning counterclockwise.
  5. Remove the windshield washer fluid cap.
  6. Use a trim or flat plastic tool to remove the bottom frunk lining trim to expose four bolts.
  7. Using a 10 mm socket, remove the four bottom frunk bolts and two bolts beneath the maintenance panel.
  8. Carefully lift the left side of the frunk lining to access the emergency interior release connector. CAUTION: Do not lift too much; connector is still attached.
  9. Disconnect the emergency interior release connector to remove the frunk lining.
  10. Locate the shrink-wrapped wires (this is the power feed).
  11. Remove the shrink wrap, then splice or solder the accessory’s wire harness to it.

Warnings & Cautions for Power Feed Access

  • WARNING: Low voltage components (48V system) are always energized. Mishandling may cause injury, arcing, or component damage.
  • CAUTION: Connect accessory positive (+) to power feed positive (red with blue stripe) and negative (-) to ground (brown with blue stripe). Check 48V Power Feed Specifications.
  • CAUTION: Ensure proper insulation (tape or heat shrink) after splicing or soldering.
  • CAUTION: Secure the accessory or attachment to the vehicle.

Reassembling the Powered Frunk

  1. Replace the frunk lining, reconnect the emergency interior release connector, and replace all fasteners and trim. Torque bolts to 12 Nm (8.87 ft-lb).
  2. Power on the vehicle (see Starting and Powering Off on page 73) and enable power to the power feed if desired (see Enabling Power to the Power Feeds on page 231).

Enabling Power to the Power Feeds

After connecting an accessory, enable power from the touchscreen: Controls > Outlets & Mods and select the desired power feed.

  • CAUTION: Leaving an accessory powered depletes the High Voltage Battery. Power shuts off when battery capacity is low.
  • By default, power feeds stop when you exit Cybertruck and close doors. To keep them on, touch Keep Outlets On (see page 196).

Using RFID Transponders

For best results, place transponders inside Cybertruck next to the rear view mirror. Weather-proof transponders can also be attached to the front license plate. Follow manufacturer instructions.

Parts and Accessories

Perform DIY procedures like replacing wiper blades and HEPA filter via Tesla Support Do-It-Yourself Guides. Select your vehicle, region, and language for accurate parts and procedures.

  • CAUTION: Perform procedures in a dry, well-lit area. Only proceed if comfortable and follow instructions carefully.

Service Mode

Service Mode is intended for qualified automotive professionals to conduct diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. It allows viewing vehicle alerts and performing simple procedures (e.g., burnishing brakes).

For details, refer to the Service Manual at service.tesla.com.

  • CAUTION: Improper use may result in vehicle damage, loss of operation, or personal injury. Vehicle speed is limited and some features are disabled while in Service Mode. Always follow the Service Manual and industry best practices.
