Tesla Cybertruck 2025-2026 Blind Spot Warning Light

Blind Spot Warning Light

Both front door pillars are equipped with a blind spot warning light in the upper speaker grille. You can enable or disable the warning lights by touching Controls > Safety > Blind Spot Warning Light. When a vehicle is detected in your blind spot in an adjacent lane, a red light appears in the upper speaker grille:

  • Solid red: Vehicle detected in blind spot.
  • Blinking red: Vehicle in blind spot while turn signal indicates intent to turn.
  • Rapid blinking red: Vehicle detected and immediate corrective action required to avoid a collision.

WARNING: Do not rely solely on Blind Spot Warning Light. Always visually confirm that a lane is clear before changing lanes.

Limitations and Inaccuracies

Lane Assist features may not always detect lane markings, resulting in unnecessary or invalid warnings under conditions such as:

  • Poor visibility (rain, snow, fog, etc.).
  • Bright light interfering with cameras.
  • Blocked camera view by vehicles or windshield obstructions.
  • Excessively worn or changing lane markings.
  • Narrow or winding roads, shadows, or sharp curves.

Lane Assist may also not steer appropriately in situations including high-speed curves, interference from sunlight, or vehicles drifting into your lane. Driver assistance features are automatically disabled in Track Mode and re-enable when Track Mode is off.

Forward Collision Warning

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) provides visual and audible warnings if a frontal collision is likely unless immediate corrective action is taken. The system highlights vehicles in red on the touchscreen and sounds a chime.

WARNING: FCW is a guidance tool and does not replace attentive driving. Always take immediate action when a warning is issued. FCW operates between approximately 3 mph (5 km/h) and 124 mph (200 km/h).

Automatic Emergency Braking

Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) applies brakes automatically to reduce speed and impact severity when a collision is imminent. Visual warnings are displayed and the brake pedal may move downward. AEB operates between 3 mph (5 km/h) and 124 mph (200 km/h).

WARNING: AEB does not prevent all collisions and should not replace safe driving. Several factors can limit or inhibit AEB performance. Do not disable it unless necessary, and always maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.

Obstacle-Aware Acceleration

Obstacle-Aware Acceleration reduces motor torque and may apply brakes if an object is detected in the immediate driving path. Visual warnings and chimes alert the driver when activated.

WARNING: This feature is not designed to prevent collisions. Several factors can delay or inhibit its operation. Always remain in control and do not test the feature.

Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

While reversing, a red bar appears in the rear view camera feed if an object is approaching from either side. You can enable a chime under Controls > Safety > Rear Cross-Traffic Chime.

WARNING: Do not rely solely on Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. Always visually check your surroundings. The cameras may not detect all objects or barriers.

Speed Assist

Speed Assist displays speed limits and can provide visual and/or audible warnings when exceeding the limit. You can choose to base warnings on detected speed limits or manually entered limits.

  • Off: No warnings or chimes.
  • Display: Speed limit displayed; grows when exceeding limit.
  • Chime: Visual display plus audible chime when exceeding the limit.

Speed limits can be determined as:

  • Relative: Set offset (+/-) from detected speed limit.
  • Absolute: Manually specify any speed limit from 20–140 mph (30–240 km/h).

WARNING: Speed Assist may be inaccurate due to poor visibility, blocked cameras, outdated maps, or non-standard signage. Always drive at a safe speed based on road conditions.

Cabin Radar

The cabin radar above the front row dome light detects occupancy and can assist in safety features.
