To jump start Cybertruck, use an external power source capable of supplying at least 12V, such as a portable jump starter or another vehicle.
CAUTION: Use jump cables that are 30 ft. (9 meters) or less in length. Longer cables may damage Cybertruck or the external power source.
The steps below assume you are using an external low voltage power supply (such as a portable jump starter). If using another vehicle, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
WARNING: Steering may be more difficult while Cybertruck is supported by an external power supply. Exercise extreme caution when repositioning the vehicle.
CAUTION: Cybertruck uses a 48V low voltage system. Some functions may be unavailable or degraded if using less than 30V. Avoid using low voltage components (climate control, USB-C ports, lights, etc.) during support. Cybertruck cannot jump start another vehicle, and avoid short circuits to prevent damage.
CAUTION: Do not allow the positive cable to contact other metal components.
CAUTION: Do not change the voltage while cables are connected.
WARNING: Shut off the power before removing cables to avoid arcing.
NOTE: Cybertruck may not shift into Drive until the high voltage battery has charged and the low voltage system fully recovers (see Running Out of Range).
NOTE: If attempting to activate Tow Mode, leave the power supply connected continuously until the vehicle is secured (see Activate Tow Mode).
