Tesla Cybertruck 2025-2026 Hazard Lights

Hazard Lights

If a severe crash is detected by your vehicle, the hazard lights will automatically turn on and flash quickly to increase visibility. Press once to return to normal cadence, press a second time to turn all hazard lights off.

NOTE: Hazard warning flashers operate even without a key nearby.

Headlights After Exit

When parking in low light, exterior lights temporarily remain on. They turn off after one minute or when you lock Cybertruck, whichever comes first. Enable/disable via Controls > Lights > Headlights After Exit. When off, headlights turn off immediately when you engage Park and open a door.

Condensation in Headlights or Tail Lights

Condensation may accumulate due to weather, humidity, or water exposure. This is normal and usually disappears as weather warms. If condensation affects visibility, schedule a service appointment via the mobile app.

Windshield Wiper and Washers

Access via steering wheel wiper button or app launcher. Drag to My Apps for easier access. Press quickly to wipe windshield; press and hold to spray washer fluid. Wipers perform additional wipes depending on conditions.

  • Wiper speeds cycle: I → II → III → IIII → III → II → I
  • Auto adjusts speed based on precipitation (BETA)
  • Heating wiper blades: touch windshield icon on touchscreen
  • Voice commands available for wiper speed
CAUTION: Do not leave wipers on Auto when washing vehicle. Remove ice before turning wipers on to prevent damage.

Braking Systems

WARNING: Properly functioning brakes are critical. Contact Tesla immediately if there is a brake issue.

Cybertruck features ABS to prevent wheel lockup. Pulsing in brake pedal indicates ABS operation. ABS indicator flashes amber on startup; if lit at other times, contact Tesla.

Emergency Braking

Fully press brake pedal and maintain pressure during emergency. ABS varies pressure to each wheel. Alternative method: press and hold Park button on touchscreen drive mode strip to apply brakes and remove drive torque.

WARNING: Do not pump the brake pedal. Maintain safe distance and be aware of hazardous conditions. Automatic Emergency Braking may intervene but is not a substitute for safe driving.

Brake Disc Wiping

In cold or wet weather, applies minimal brake force to remove water from discs.

Hydraulic Boost Compensation

Brake booster assists braking. If failure occurs, brake pedal feels stiffer and produces sound. Apply steady pressure without pumping.

Hydraulic Fade Compensation

Monitors brake pressure and ABS activity. If reduced brake performance is detected, pedal may feel different; continue pressing without pumping.

WARNING: Maintain safe distance. Compensation features are not substitutes for applying brakes properly.

Regenerative Braking

Slows vehicle when foot off accelerator and feeds power back to battery. Deceleration varies with battery state. Option to apply regular brakes automatically when regenerative braking is limited: Controls > Dynamics > Apply Brakes When Regenerative Braking is Limited.

Power meter displays power usage and regenerative power. Winter tires may temporarily reduce regenerative braking.

Vehicle Hold

Maintains brakes after vehicle stops. Indicator shows on touchscreen. Disengage by pressing accelerator, brake, or shifting into Neutral. Vehicle Hold cancels after ~10 minutes or if driver leaves the vehicle.

Parking Brake

Engages automatically in Park, disengages when shifting out of Park. Manual engagement: touch and hold Park on touchscreen or overhead console.

  • Red indicator: engaged
  • Amber indicator: electrical issue
  • Operates rear wheels only
CAUTION: Cannot release without electrical power; jump start required. Avoid parking on slopes in snowy/icy conditions.

Brake Wear

Brake pads have wear indicators that squeal when pads are worn. Inspect visually by removing tire/wheel. Clean/lubricate calipers annually or every 20,000 km if roads salted.

NOTE: Brake pads used less frequently due to regenerative braking. Exterior brake lights may illuminate during aggressive regenerative braking.
