Applies to: vehicles with telephone
Introduction
You can operate various telephone functions easily through the MMI in your vehicle.
Depending on the country and vehicle equipment, the following options may be available:
- Connecting a cell phone with Bluetooth
- Using two telephones
- Using the Audi phone box
Warning
- Mobile devices can interfere with pacemakers. Maintain a minimum distance of about 7.9 inches (20 cm) between mobile device antennas and the pacemaker.
- Do not carry the mobile device in a pocket directly over the pacemaker when the phone is switched on.
- Switch off the mobile device immediately if it may interfere with the pacemaker.
- Do not use the voice recognition system in emergencies because voice may change under stress. Dial emergency numbers manually.
- Switch off your mobile device in areas with risk of explosion (gas stations, fuel/chemical storage, vehicles with fuel vapors, dust, or chemicals in the air).
- Traffic demands your full attention. Always read the traffic safety chapter.

Tips
- The Bluetooth connection range is limited to inside the vehicle.
- A selection of supported Bluetooth devices can be found at www.audi.com/bluetooth.
Setup
Connecting a Mobile Phone via Bluetooth
Requirement: Vehicle must be stationary, ignition on, Bluetooth enabled on the mobile device, and device not actively connected to other Bluetooth devices.
- Enable Bluetooth and visibility on MMI and mobile phone.
- MMI: Home screen → PHONE.
- Follow system instructions. Available Bluetooth devices will display after a few seconds.
- Press the desired device from the list.
- To update the list, press Q.
- A PIN for secure Bluetooth connection will be generated. Confirm on mobile device.
- Follow system instructions and pay attention to other prompts on MMI and phone.
After Connecting Successfully
Cell phone contacts are automatically loaded into the MMI, which may take several minutes. Depending on your phone and connection type, various functions are available.
Using the Hands-Free System
Requirement: Cell phone connected via Bluetooth HFP (Hands-Free Profile).
You can make calls using the hands-free system and your mobile device antenna.

Tips
- Pay attention to system prompts on your mobile device or MMI, e.g., future automatic connections. You may need to download contacts and confirm message access.
- Search for the MMI on your mobile device using Bluetooth search.
- Pair the device only once. Paired devices automatically connect to MMI when in range and ignition is on.
- The last connected mobile device is given priority.
- Manage additional settings for connected devices via Connected devices menu.
- Bluetooth disconnects automatically when leaving the vehicle. Calls in progress may transfer to your phone automatically.
Using Two Telephones
Applies to: Vehicles with telephone and Audi phone box
You can connect two mobile phones simultaneously using Bluetooth HFP, e.g., business and private phones. You can be reached through both phones in the vehicle.
For devices with Bluetooth MAP: You can send and receive messages with both devices.
Connecting Another Mobile Device
Requirement: One mobile device already connected. Vehicle stationary, ignition on, Bluetooth enabled on the new device, and not actively connected elsewhere.
- Enable Bluetooth and visibility on MMI and mobile phone.
- MMI: Home → PHONE → (or) Home → SETTINGS → Connected devices → Telephone 1 or 2 → New connection.
- Follow system instructions. Available devices will display after a few seconds.
- Select the desired device and confirm PIN for secure connection.
- Follow all prompts on MMI and mobile device.
Switching Between Two Mobile Devices
Requirement: Both phones connected to MMI.
MMI: Home screen → PHONE → select device.
