Identification Data

Vehicle Data Label

The vehicle identification label (Fig. 188) is located in the luggage compartment under the cargo floor cover. Information on the label can also be found in the Warranty & Maintenance booklet.

The label contains the following vehicle data:

  • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Vehicle type, motor output, transmission
  • Motor and transmission codes
  • Paint and interior codes
  • Optional equipment numbers

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

The VIN is located in the following areas:

  • MMI: Home screen → VEHICLE > Settings & Service → Vehicle information
  • On the vehicle identification label
  • At the front, behind the windshield*
  • Stamped into the motor compartment on the right side

Notes About Technical Data

The values may vary based on special equipment, market-specific equipment, and measuring methods. Specifications in the vehicle documentation take precedence.

  • Fuel tank: 15.3 gal (58 L)
  • Windshield and headlight washer system*: 5.1 qt (4.8 L)
  • A/C system refrigerant oil: 110 g ±10 g (exact type specified on the refrigerant compressor sticker)

Weights and Loads

  • Maximum permitted load: Listed on the tire pressure label on the driver’s door pillar.
  • Maximum permitted roof load (sedan): 198 lbs (90 kg)
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR): Listed on the safety certificate on the side area of the door or driver’s door pillar.
  • Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR): Maximum permitted load on front or rear axle listed on the safety certificate.

Online Car Care

Applies to vehicles with Online Car Care. New messages will appear in the MMI when ignition is switched on. To access messages later: Home screen → VEHICLE > Settings & Service > Online Car Care.

Special service events, service measures, and recalls will be displayed via Online Car Care.
