Applies to: vehicles with cruise control system
The cruise control system assists the driver in maintaining a constant speed above approximately 15 mph (20 km/h). The system maintains the desired speed by braking and accelerating.
Before driving downhill for a long distance on a steep hill, reduce your speed and select a lower gear. This uses the engine braking effect and reduces brake load.
Applies to: vehicles with cruise control system
Indicator lights and messages in the speedometer provide information about the driving situation and system settings. Displays depend on country and vehicle equipment.
CRUISE – The cruise control system is switched on and actively controlling the set speed.
An additional indicator may appear in the head-up display.
Observe the safety precautions and note the limits of the assist systems, sensors, and cameras.

Requirement: The ignition must be switched on.
To switch the system on, pull the operating lever toward you to the ON position.

Requirement: The system must be switched on.
Applies to: vehicles with cruise control system
When deactivated, the stored speed remains saved and can be resumed.
If the system is overridden for an extended period, it will deactivate automatically.
Resting your foot on the accelerator pedal can override cruise control. System braking interventions may not occur.

If you do not plan to use cruise control for a longer period:
Press the lever to the OFF position (locked). The indicator light will turn off and the stored speed will be cleared.
Applies to: vehicles with cruise control system
If a malfunction occurs, cruise control functions may be unavailable or limited.
Messages may indicate poor weather conditions or covered sensors. Clean the sensor area and try again later.
If the malfunction persists, visit an authorized Audi dealer or service facility.
Applies to: vehicles with efficiency assist
Efficiency assist provides predictive information to help reduce fuel consumption. Depending on vehicle equipment, the system may use navigation data, camera data, and radar sensors.
Efficiency assist functions can be adjusted individually depending on vehicle equipment.
Depending on vehicle equipment, symbols may appear to indicate driving situations to which efficiency assist is responding.
If the indicator lights turn green or red, this shows a difference between the speed limit and the set speed.
Observe the safety precautions and limits of assist systems, sensors, and cameras.
