Depending on the vehicle equipment, the following items may appear in the instrument cluster.
If there is a serious system malfunction, the display may turn off. The indicator light may also turn on. Stop the vehicle safely and contact an authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service Facility for assistance.
Information is organized into various tabs in the instrument cluster. The contents of each tab are shown in the central display area.
Requirement: the ignition must be switched on.
Requirement: a menu or list must be displayed.
Applies to: Audi virtual cockpit
Depending on vehicle equipment, various layouts may be available.
Depending on vehicle equipment, the central display area can be hidden.
Applies to: vehicles with a coolant temperature indicator.
The coolant temperature display functions only when the ignition is switched on.
If only the LEDs at the bottom of the gauge are on, the engine has not reached operating temperature. Avoid high engine speeds, full acceleration, and heavy engine loads.
The engine has reached operating temperature when the LEDs reach the center of the gauge. If the indicator light turns on, the coolant temperature is too high.
The tachometer displays the engine speed in revolutions per minute (RPM). The red zone indicates the maximum permissible engine speed.
If the indicator light turns on, the engine speed is automatically limited to protect engine components.
If the limitation is caused by a malfunction, drive to an authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service Facility immediately.
The needle may only remain in the red zone briefly. Prolonged operation can damage the engine.
The trip odometer and total odometer are displayed in the status bar.
The trip odometer shows the distance driven since the last reset, while the odometer shows the total distance driven by the vehicle.
Distances are displayed in miles (mi) or kilometers (km).
The outside temperature is shown in the status bar.
At low speeds or when stationary, the displayed temperature may be slightly higher than the actual outside temperature due to engine heat.
