Coolant Temperature Display

Applies to: vehicles with a coolant temperature indicator.

The coolant temperature display functions only when the ignition is switched on.

Cold Range

If only the LEDs at the bottom of the gauge are on, the engine has not reached operating temperature. Avoid high engine speeds, full acceleration, and heavy engine loads.

Normal Range

The engine has reached operating temperature when the LEDs reach the center of the gauge. If the indicator light turns on, the coolant temperature is too high.

Coolant Temperature Notes

  • Accessories in front of the air intake can impair cooling and increase the risk of overheating.
  • A damaged front spoiler can reduce cooling efficiency. Contact an authorized Audi Service Facility.

Tachometer

The tachometer displays the engine speed in revolutions per minute (RPM). The red zone indicates the maximum permissible engine speed.

Engine Speed Limitation

If the indicator light turns on, the engine speed is automatically limited to protect engine components.

If the limitation is caused by a malfunction, drive to an authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service Facility immediately.

Tachometer Note

The needle may only remain in the red zone briefly. Prolonged operation can damage the engine.

Odometer

The trip odometer and total odometer are displayed in the status bar.

The trip odometer shows the distance driven since the last reset, while the odometer shows the total distance driven by the vehicle.

Resetting the Trip Odometer

  • Press the reset button to reset the trip odometer to zero.

Odometer Tips

Distances are displayed in miles (mi) or kilometers (km).

Outside Temperature Display

The outside temperature is shown in the status bar.

At low speeds or when stationary, the displayed temperature may be slightly higher than the actual outside temperature due to engine heat.
