  1. Automatically open/close (if equipped)
  2. Open/close

To open: Press the switch down lightly and hold it. The window will open as long as the switch is held.

Some models have a one-touch auto down feature: press until it clicks and release. To stop halfway, pull the switch up lightly.

To close: Pull the switch up lightly and hold it. Similar AUTO function warnings apply.

For one-touch auto up/down reactivation after battery disconnection, refer to “Initialization of power window” F2-38.

Operating the Rear Passengers’ Windows

To close: Pull up and hold the switch until the window reaches desired position.

If the driver’s lock switch is in lock position, passenger switches cannot operate.

If battery disconnection occurs, one-touch auto up/down and anti-entrapment functions are deactivated. Initialize as follows:

  1. Close the driver’s door.
  2. Turn ignition switch to “ON”.
  3. Open driver’s side window halfway by pushing down the switch.
  4. Pull up switch and close window completely, holding 1 second after fully closed.
  5. Open driver’s side window completely by fully pushing down the switch.

Rear Gate

Manual Rear Gate (if equipped)

The rear gate can be locked/unlocked via:

  • Power door locking switch
  • Keyless access with push-button start (if equipped)
  • Remote keyless entry system

To open: Unlock, press and hold rear gate opener button, lift gate slowly.

NOTE: If battery is discharged or system malfunctions, unlock using manual rear gate lock release lever.

To close: Lower rear gate slowly and push firmly until latch engages.

Warnings and Cautions
  • Keep rear gate closed while driving to prevent exhaust entry.
  • Avoid closing the rear gate using recessed grip from inside.
  • Do not jam items or use tape on gate stays; avoid hitting your head while opening/closing.
Power Rear Gate (if equipped)
  • Ensure no people are around when opening/closing.
  • Electronic chirp sounds if operating conditions not met; gate may stop suddenly.
  • After opening on a slope, ensure rear gate stops completely.
  • Always carry the key and never leave unattended children in vehicle.
  • Use power rear gate button, not manual force, to avoid damage.
Operating Conditions
  • Vehicle must be stopped.
  • Outside temperature between −22°F and 158°F (−30°C to 70°C).
  • Ignition in “LOCK/OFF” or “ACC”, or “ON” with parking brake applied (MT) / lever in “P” (CVT).

NOTE: Repeated button presses may be ignored. Temporary stopping is not possible between fully closed and ~12 in (30 cm) open. If vehicle moves during operation, buzzer sounds and gate closes automatically. Immediate re-opening may require manual operation.

To open: Press and hold power rear gate button when gate is closed. Electronic chirp sounds twice and hazard flashers flash twice. Gate opens automatically.

To stop midway: Briefly press the button again.
