Portable Ashtray

The portable ashtray can be installed in each cup holder or bottle holder. For locations of cup holders, refer to “Cup holders” F6-7. For locations of bottle holders, refer to “Bottle holders” F6-9.

When using the ashtray, open the lid. Fully close the lid after use to reduce residual smoke.

Floor Mat (if equipped)

CAUTION: If the floor mat slips forward and interferes with pedal movement, it could cause an accident. Observe the following:

  • Use a genuine SUBARU floor mat or an equivalent with grommets in the correct locations.
  • Ensure the driver’s floor mat is properly secured on its retaining pins.
  • Do not use more than one floor mat.

Retaining pins are located on the driver’s side floor. Place grommets over pins and push downward to secure the floor mat.

Shopping Bag Hook

CAUTION: Do not hang items weighing 6 lbs (3 kg) or more. A shopping bag hook is attached to each side of the cargo area.

Convenient Hook

CAUTION:

  • Do not hang items weighing 6 lbs (3 kg) or more. Rear gate may lower even with lighter loads in certain conditions.
  • Do not try to close the rear gate with an item on the hook; remove it first to prevent damage.

The convenient hook is attached to the rear gate trim. You can hang items like a candle lantern or wet suit when the rear gate is open.

Cargo Area Cover (if equipped)

The cargo area cover protects contents from direct sunlight and is detachable for additional cargo space.

Using the Cover

Pull the cover out of the housing and insert hooks into catches to extend. To rewind, unhook and guide it back into the housing.

WARNING: Do not place anything on the extended cover; excessive weight could break it and cause injury in a sudden stop or collision.

CAUTION: Avoid scratching the rear gate stays while extending/rewinding; damaged stays may fail to hold the rear gate open.

Installing the Front Cover

CAUTION: For vehicles with rear seat reclining, move the front cover backward to avoid damage when reclining the rear seatback.

  1. Align the right side of the front cover with the triangle mark before fixing.
  2. Push the front cover to the right and shorten the bar.
  3. Align the left side of the front cover with the triangle mark before fixing.

Removing the Front Cover

  1. Push the front cover to the right and shorten the bar.
  2. Remove the front cover.

Removing the Cover Housing

  1. Rewind the cover.
  2. Push the cover housing to the right and shorten it.
  3. Remove it from the retainer.

Stowage of the Cargo Area Cover

The cargo area cover can be stowed under the cargo floor:

  1. Pull the strap to open the center cargo floor lid and remove it.
  2. Remove the left and right parts of the cargo floor lid.
  3. Stow the cover housing at the cargo area end.
