To activate the alarm, press the “PANIC†button once. The horn will sound and the hazard warning flashers will flash. To deactivate the panic alarm, press any button on the access key/remote transmitter. If no button is pressed, the alarm will automatically deactivate after approximately 30 seconds.
The system provides an electronic chirp when doors lock/unlock. To deactivate or restore this function:
These settings can also be changed by a SUBARU dealer or via the multi-function display (see “Keyless buzzer volume setting†F3-81).

If a transmitter is lost or additional ones are needed (up to four), contact a SUBARU dealer to have the transmitters reprogrammed into the remote keyless entry system for security reasons.
The alarm system helps protect your vehicle and valuables from theft. The horn sounds and hazard flashers flash if a break-in is attempted.
For models with keyless access and push-button start, the system is armed/disarmed via the access key. It will not activate if the ignition is in “ACC†or “ONâ€. For models without push-button start, use the remote transmitter. It will not activate if the key is in the ignition switch.

NOTE: The system can be set to trigger interior lights: map lights, dome light, and cargo area light. These are off by factory default; SUBARU dealer can activate.
If previously activated, the odometer displays “AL oF†and horn sounds twice to indicate deactivation. If previously deactivated, the odometer displays “AL on†and horn sounds once to indicate activation.
