Installing the Cover Housing
- Insert the protrusion located on the right end of the sleeve into the recess of the retainer.
- Push the cover housing to the right side and shorten the bar.
- Insert the other protrusion into the recess of the other retainer.
Cargo Tie-Down Hooks
The cargo area has four tie-down hooks to secure cargo with a net or ropes. When using the front hooks, turn them down from their storing recesses.
CAUTION: The hooks are designed for light cargo only. Maximum load: 44 lbs (20 kg) per hook.
Under-Floor Storage Compartment (if equipped)
NOTE: Shape may vary by model.
The compartment is under the cargo floor and can store small items. Pull the strap to open the center cargo floor lid, then remove the lid.
CAUTION:
- Keep lids closed while driving to reduce injury risk in sudden stops or accidents.
- Do not store spray cans, flammable or corrosive liquids, or other dangerous items.
Rear View Camera (if equipped)
A rear view camera is attached to the rear gate. When ignition is “ON†and the shift lever/select lever is set to “Râ€, the camera displays the rear view image on the navigation or audio display monitor.
WARNING:
- The wide-angle lens shows a different distance than actual. Always check your surroundings visually and proceed slowly when reversing.
- Do not disassemble or modify the camera, switch, or wiring. If smoke or strange odor appears, stop using it and contact your SUBARU dealer.
CAUTION:
- Do not allow high-pressure washer water to contact the camera directly.
- Avoid strong impacts; mud or ice removal must be done carefully.
- Do not expose camera to flame or improper fuse replacement.
- Extended use with engine off may discharge the battery.
Using the Rear View Camera
- Set ignition switch to “ONâ€.
- Set shift lever/select lever to “Râ€.
NOTE: For SUBARU navigation/audio system, the camera image may not display while navigation is active. The camera image takes priority over other screen displays and is horizontally reversed, similar to the rearview mirror.
Viewing Range and Help Lines
CAUTION: Always check visually when reversing; help lines are guides only. Distances may vary due to cargo, slopes, or vehicle inclination.
The help line provides distance markers and vehicle width guidance:
- Vehicle width line (oblique vertical line)
- Approx. 10 ft (3 m) from bumper (green horizontal line)
- Approx. 3 ft (1 m) from bumper (yellow horizontal line)
- Approx. 1.5 ft (0.5 m) from bumper (red horizontal line)
- Vehicle centerline
Screen Image vs. Actual Distance
- Distance markers assume level road with no cargo; actual distance may differ based on load or road slope.
- Upward slope: screen shows farther than actual distance.
- Downward slope: screen shows nearer than actual distance.
- Loaded cargo: rear view distance may appear farther than actual.
