Settings
The function can be activated or deactivated in the following menu in the Infotainment system.
- Open the corresponding settings menu in the Infotainment system.
- Select the function and activate or deactivate it as required.
Replace light bulbs
What you should be mindful of
DIY replacement of the following bulbs is possible. Other light sources must be replaced by a specialist garage.
The new bulb must conform to the specification of the original bulb. The bulb type is marked on the bulb socket.
After replacing a bulb in the low beam, main beam or fog light, the headlights must be adjusted by a specialist garage.
CAUTION
Halogen lamps are pressurised and may burst during replacement. Always wear gloves and safety goggles.
NOTICE
- Contamination of the halogen lamp reduces its service life. Do not touch the glass of the bulb with bare fingers.
- Always correctly refit the protective cap after replacing a bulb to prevent water or dirt entering the headlight.
Conditions for changing a bulb
- Ignition switched off.
- Light switched off.
Low beam
- Remove the protective cap from the headlight.
- Turn and remove the socket with the bulb.
- Remove the bulb from the socket.
- Insert the new bulb into the socket so that fixing lug A snaps into the recess on the bulb.
- Insert the socket with the bulb into the headlight and turn clockwise to secure.
- Refit the protective cap on the headlight.
Main beam and side lights
Remove protective cap
- Remove the protective cap from the headlight.
Changing the bulb for the main beam
- Turn and remove the socket with the bulb.
- Remove the bulb from the socket.
- Insert the new bulb into the socket so that fixing lug A snaps into the recess on the bulb.
- Insert the socket with the bulb into the headlight and turn clockwise to secure.
Changing the parking light bulb
- Remove the base with the bulb.
- Replace the bulb in the socket.
- Push the base with the bulb fully into the headlight.
Refit protective cap
- Reinstall the protective cap on the headlight.
Front turn signal
- Remove the protective cap from the headlight.
- Remove the base with the bulb.
- Replace the bulb in the socket.
- Insert the socket with the bulb so that fixing lugs A align with the recesses on the headlight.
- Refit the protective cap.
Fog lights
Removing the cover cap from the wheel housing
- Turn the front wheels to access the cover cap.
- Insert the bracket from the tool kit into the recess in the cover cap.
- Pull the bracket to remove the cover.
Removing the defective bulb
- Remove the rubber protective cap from the headlight.
- Turn the bulb and remove it.
- Disconnect the connector from the bulb.
Installing the new bulb
- Insert the connector into the new bulb until it clicks.
- Insert the bulb into the headlight so the guide lugs align with the openings.
- Turn the bulb clockwise to secure.
- Refit the rubber protective cap.
- Reinstall the wheel housing cover.
Rear turn signal
Removing the light unit
- Loosen and remove the grid in area A.
- Unscrew the fixing screw.
- Remove the light unit.
- Pull out locking device A slightly on the connector.
- Press the safety button and disconnect the plug.
Replacing the bulb
- Turn and remove the socket with the bulb.
- Replace the bulb in the socket.
- Insert the socket into the light unit so the guide lugs align with the openings.
- Turn clockwise to secure.
Reinstalling the light unit
- Insert the connector into the light until it clicks.
- Push the locking device back in.
- Insert the lamp with holes A onto pins B in the body.
- Screw the light into place.
- Reinstall the grid.
NOTICE
- Ensure the seal is correctly positioned when installing the light to prevent water entering the electrical system.
- Ensure cables are not pinched between the light and the vehicle body.

Lighting in front and rear

Automatic switching on
The interior lights switch on automatically when:
- The vehicle is unlocked.
- A door is opened.
- The ignition key is removed (vehicles without a start button).
- The ignition is switched off (vehicles with a start button).
Automatic switching off
The interior lights switch off when:
- The vehicle is locked.
- The ignition is switched on.
- About 30 seconds after all doors are closed.
If a door remains open and the ignition is off, the lights automatically switch off after about 10 minutes.
Footwell lighting
- Works only when dipped or parking lights are switched on.
- Also switches on automatically when a door is opened.
Make-up mirror lighting
- Slide the cover of the make-up mirror in the sun visor to switch the light on.

The footwell lighting can be configured in the interior lighting menu of the Infotainment system.
Interior ambient light
Usage
Ambient lighting creates a comfortable atmosphere inside the vehicle.
- Works when dipped or parking lights are switched on.
- Also switches on automatically when a door is opened.

Windscreen wipers and washers
Operating conditions
- Engine compartment flap closed.
- Boot door closed.
- Ignition switched on.
Operation
WARNING
At low temperatures, washer fluid may freeze on the windscreen and restrict visibility. Only use the washer when the windscreen is warm.
Windscreen wiping
- Fast wiping.
- Slow wiping.
- Intermittent wiping (depending on equipment).
- Automatic wiping controlled by the rain sensor.
- Tip-wiping (spring-loaded position).
- Switching off.
A – Setting the wiping speed for intermittent wiping.
Washing and wiping the windscreen
- Activate washing and wiping using the spring-loaded position on the control lever.
On some vehicles, the windscreen washer nozzles are heated automatically after starting the engine.
Headlight cleaning
When the headlights are switched on, they are cleaned during the first windscreen wash and after every tenth wash. The cleaning interval can be adjusted by a specialist garage.
Rear window wiping and washing
- Washing and wiping the rear window.
- Washing the reversing camera (spring-loaded position).
- Rear window wiping.
- Switching off.
Automatic rear window wiping
- When the windscreen wipers operate continuously, the rear window wipes intermittently.
- When reverse gear is engaged, the rear window wipes automatically if the front wipers are on.
Settings
Automatic rear window wiping and rain-sensor controlled wiping can be activated or deactivated
in the Infotainment system settings menu.
Refilling windscreen washer fluid
WARNING
Always use washer fluid suitable for the weather conditions to avoid accidents caused by poor visibility.
NOTICE
- Do not remove the strainer from the container neck when refilling washer fluid.
- Use only washer fluid that does not damage polycarbonate components such as headlights.
