Skoda Kodiaq 2016-2024 Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Driver Assist Systems

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Driver Assist Systems

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Allows a speed setting in the range of 30–160 km/h or 30–210 km/h. If started below 30 km/h on automatic transmission vehicles, speed is increased to 30 km/h or controlled according to the vehicle ahead.

Distance Level

The distance to the vehicle ahead can be adjusted to five levels.

WARNING: Maintain a minimum distance according to country-specific regulations.

Automatic Stop and Start

Automatic transmission vehicles can decelerate to stop and resume using ACC. Control is disconnected during longer holds. To resume, depress accelerator or move lever to N.

Overtaking

If the vehicle moves to a fast lane with no vehicle ahead, ACC accelerates to set speed.

Status Display
  • Illuminated – ACC activated
  • Depending on equipment: illuminated – control active or illuminates with symbol – control active
  • Illuminated – ACC does not decelerate sufficiently → depress brake
Operation with Lever
  • Activate ACC (control inactive)
  • Start/resume control, increase speed in 1 km/h steps (sprung position)
  • Interrupt control (sprung position)
  • Deactivate ACC
  • Increase/decrease speed in 10 km/h steps
  • Set distance level
  • Start control/reduce speed in 1 km/h steps
Starting Control

Tap on control button or move lever to sprung position if no speed saved. Set distance level using the switch; Line A appears in display indicating distance change.

Temporary Acceleration

Depress accelerator → vehicle accelerates, control temporarily interrupted, resumes after release.

Interrupting Cruise Control
  • Press brake pedal
  • Long clutch pedal operation
  • After ESC intervention
  • After ASR deactivation
Resuming Control

If speed stored, move lever to sprung position → vehicle controlled at set speed, shown in instrument cluster.

Function Restrictions

WARNING: Be alert in the following situations:

  • Vehicle in adjacent lane faster than your vehicle >80 km/h may affect ACC control
  • Cornering – vehicle in next lane may enter detected area
  • Narrow or staggered vehicles detected only if within radar area
  • Lane change by another vehicle may not be recognized in time
  • Stationary vehicles turning may not be detected
  • Vehicles with special load/bodies protruding outside may not be detected
Settings

Infotainment menu options:

  • Driving program – set vehicle acceleration when ACC active
  • Last distance selected – switch last selected distance on/off
  • Distance – set distance to vehicles ahead
Troubleshooting
  • ACC not available – stop engine and restart; check brake lights and replace bulbs if needed; seek specialist if unresolved

Lane Assist

Keeps vehicle between lane lines, primarily on highways. Executes steering correction opposite lane marking, can be overridden manually. No intervention when turn signal on.

Status Display
  • Lights up – system activated but not ready
  • Lights up – system ready or currently intervening
Adaptive Lane Guidance

Keeps driver in selected lane position. Lines highlighted in monochrome or color display. Steering wheel vibration warns if system cannot keep vehicle in lane.

Operating Conditions
  • Driving speed > 65 km/h
  • Lane markings clearly visible
Function Restrictions
  • Sensor field limited by dirt, obstacles, preceding vehicle
  • Unfavorable weather conditions
  • Sharp bends or steep/rutted roads
  • Narrow driving lanes

WARNING: Objects or markings may be misrecognized as lane lines. Keep hands on wheel and be ready to override.

Settings

Activate/deactivate via Assist Systems menu in instrument cluster or Infotainment.

Troubleshooting
  • System unavailable – clean windscreen sensor area, stop engine and restart; seek specialist if still unavailable

Traffic Jam Assistant

Keeps vehicle within lane and distance from vehicle ahead. Uses automatic gearbox, Lane Assist, and ACC. Intended for highways.

WARNING: Keep hands on steering wheel and be ready to take over. Follow Lane Assist and ACC instructions.

Operating conditions: Lane Assist with adaptive guidance activated, ACC active and speed regulated, driving speed < 60 km/h.

Side Assist (Lane Change Assist)

Monitors area beside and behind vehicle. Alerts driver via exterior mirror indicator if another vehicle is in the lane and may pose a danger during lane change.

Functionality

Indicator light illuminates for detected vehicle. Faster approaching vehicle triggers earlier warning. Indicator flashes if your vehicle crosses lane markings toward approaching vehicle (requires Lane Assist active and lane detected).

Operating Conditions
  • Driving speed > 15 km/h
  • No accessories connected to trailer socket
Function Restrictions

System cannot detect lane width; may alert for vehicle in distant lane in certain cases.
