Park Pilot Parking Aid
Functionality: If an obstacle is detected, the infotainment displays a visible message and an audible signal sounds. The interval between signals shortens as clearance decreases. Below 30 cm, a continuous tone sounds. If the driver does not respond, automatic emergency braking is triggered at speeds below 10 km/h. Automatic braking can be toggled in the infotainment.
Display

Operating Conditions
- Driving speed < 15 km/h
- No trailer socket accessories connected
Operation
- Switching on: Engage reverse gear or press the button
- Automatic switch-on: Approaching an obstacle <10 km/h (automatic braking not activated)
- Switching off: Disengage reverse gear or press the button
- Automatic switch-off: Driving speed >15 km/h
Function Restrictions
The system may not warn of obstacles or issue warnings incorrectly under:
- Unfavourable weather
- Moving obstacles
- Obstacles with non-reflective surfaces
- Small obstacles (stones, pillars)
Settings
Configured via infotainment system menu.
Troubleshooting
- Audible signal sounds without obstacle → seek specialist garage
- Symbol flashes in button → seek specialist garage
- Not all scanned areas displayed → move vehicle slightly; if unresolved, seek specialist garage
Rear View Camera
Functionality: Displays area behind vehicle when reversing with orientation lines. Camera cleaning is automatic when rear window is washed.
Orientation Lines
- A: 40 cm
- B: 100 cm
- C: 200 cm
- D: Track controlled at current steering angle; side lines ≈ vehicle width incl. mirrors
Function Surfaces
- A: Transverse parking mode
- B: Parallel parking mode
- C: Driving up to trailer/distance monitoring
- D: Monitoring area behind vehicle (wide view)
- E: Screen brightness, contrast, colour
- F: Parking Assist View – toggle view and audible signals
Operating Conditions
- Ignition on
- Driving speed < 15 km/h
Operation
- Switch on: Engage reverse gear or press button
- Transverse parking: Position vehicle, reverse along yellow lines, stop at red line, follow guidance
- Parallel parking: Select mode, turn indicator, align vehicle, follow trapezoidal borders, hold steering, reverse safely
- Driving up to trailer: Plan view shown, distance lines displayed
- Monitoring area behind: Wide view displayed
- Switch off: Press button or put selector in position (automatic gearbox)
- Automatic shut-off: Forward speed >15 km/h
Restrictions
Camera image may be distorted. Use only to estimate distance. Thin posts, wire fences, grids, road bumps may not display properly.
Area View Environment Overview
Displays surrounding vehicle area to assist with parking and manoeuvring. 3D views available: top, oblique, side, overall. Swipe to change viewing angle.
Front Camera View
- Transverse parking – orientation lines for distance and route
- Wide view – area in front marked by blue lines
- Distance monitoring – red line at ~40 cm
Side Camera View
- Left, right, left & right – yellow line at ~40 cm
Operating Conditions
- Ignition on
- Driving speed < 15 km/h
Operation
- Switch on: Engage reverse gear or press button
- Select camera image: touch vehicle silhouette in infotainment; selected area highlighted
- Switch off: Press button or selector to position
- Automatic shut-off: Forward speed >15 km/h
Restrictions
Camera image may be distorted. Objects at vehicle corners may be outside camera view.
Troubleshooting
- Symbol flashes in button → seek specialist garage
Rear Traffic Alert
Warns of approaching vehicles when reversing. Automatically brakes vehicle <10 km/h if driver does not respond.
Park Pilot Vehicle
Graphical warning on infotainment and continuous tone for approaching vehicle.
Vehicle without Park Pilot
Warning in instrument cluster and acoustic signal if approaching vehicle detected.
Operating Conditions
- No trailer socket accessories connected
Function Restrictions
Function may be limited in unfavourable weather.
Settings
Activated/deactivated via instrument cluster or infotainment Assist systems menu.
Troubleshooting
- System unavailable → stop engine, restart, seek specialist if unresolved
Park Steering Assistant
Helps park in parallel/perpendicular spaces and manoeuvre out of parallel spaces. System controls steering; driver operates pedals and gear selector.
Usage Restrictions
- Do not use on unpaved/slippery surfaces
- Do not use with snow chains or spare wheel mounted
- Do not use if system selects inappropriate parking space
Operating Conditions
- Driving speed < 7 km/h
- ASR activated, no intervention
- No driver intervention in automatic steering
- No trailer socket accessories connected
Operation
- Turn on/off: Press button (symbol lights up)
- Select lane side: Indicator for side to park
- Search for parking: Drive past parked vehicles 0.5–1.5 m; speed <20 km/h for cross-road, <40 km/h along road
- Parking modes: Backwards longitudinal, backwards crosswise, forwards across; change with button
- Follow display arrows and signals; system takes over steering
Automatic Speed Reduction
If speed >7 km/h during parking, system reduces speed. Exceeding again terminates process.
Function Restrictions
Too small parking space prevents use; message displayed.
Troubleshooting
- System unavailable → stop engine, restart, seek specialist if unresolved
- Incorrect vehicle position → may depend on wheel size; have system readjusted by specialist garage
Trailer Assist Trailer Manoeuvring Aid
Assists driver when reversing with a trailer. Monitors trailer drawbar angle and executes steering movements. Driver operates pedals and gear selector. Desired direction set via exterior mirror knob.
Usage Restrictions
- Use carefully on unpaved/slippery surfaces
- Snow chains or spare wheel mounted – exercise caution
Notice
System does not warn of obstacles behind trailer. Driver must check manually.
Operating Conditions
- Driving speed < 5 km/h
- ASR activated, no intervention
- Luggage compartment and driver’s door closed
- Uniaxial/biaxial trailer without steered axle
- Trailer drawbar not covered, not veering excessively
Operation
- Before switching on: Make several turns/corners with trailer attached
- Switch on: Engage reverse, depress brake, release steering, press button
- Manoeuvring: Tilt exterior mirror knob to adjust trailer direction
