Wiper and Washer Switch
Adjusting Intermittent Intervals
With the lever in the “INT” (speed-sensitive intermittent) position, adjust intervals by turning the knob (A):
Note: Speed-sensitive operation can be deactivated at an Authorized Service Point.
Misting Function
Move the lever in the direction of the arrow and release to operate the wipers once. Useful in mist or drizzle conditions.
Vehicles with Rain Sensor
- MIST: Operates wipers once
- OFF: Off
- AUTO: Rain sensor automatically controls wipers based on wetness
- LO: Slow speed
- HI: Fast speed
Note: Only active when ignition switch or operation mode is ON. Keep lever OFF if windscreen is dirty to prevent scratches.
CAUTION
- Do not place hands near the sensor when AUTO mode is active.
- Avoid touching the rain sensor while cleaning, using car wash, or applying shocks to windscreen.
Rain Sensor Notes
- Wipers may not operate at 0°C or lower to protect rubber parts.
- Do not cover sensor or apply water-repellent coatings.
- Sensor may malfunction if wipers operate at constant intervals or do not operate during rain.
- Foreign objects or ice on windscreen may trigger automatic wiper operation or prevent proper wiping.
- Strong sunlight or electromagnetic waves can trigger wipers automatically; turn lever to OFF to stop.
Adjusting Rain Sensor Sensitivity
With lever in AUTO position, adjust sensitivity using knob (B):
- +: Higher sensitivity to rain
- -: Lower sensitivity to rain
Note: Automatic rain-sensitive operation can be changed to vehicle-speed-sensitive intermittent operation at an Authorized Service Point.
Misting Function Reminder
Lever in MIST or AUTO positions will operate wipers once; AUTO requires knob (C) adjustment for sensitivity.
Windscreen Washer
Pull lever towards you to spray washer fluid. Wipers operate automatically several times while spraying. Headlamp washer operates simultaneously if equipped.
CAUTION
- Washer fluid may freeze in cold weather; use defroster before washing.
Headlamp Washer Switch*
Push button to spray headlamps with washer fluid when ignition is ON or ACC and lamp switch is ON. Operates with windscreen washer on first use.
Precautions When Using Wipers and Washers
- Blocked wipers (ice/deposits) may stop temporarily to protect motor; clear obstruction before resuming.
- Do not use wipers on dry glass; may scratch or damage blades.
- Check that blades are not frozen before using in cold weather.
- Do not operate washer >20 seconds or when reservoir is empty.
- Check washer fluid level and refill with freeze-resistant solution in cold weather.

- Clean inside rear window carefully along heater wires.
Customizing Automatic Rear Demister (Type 2)

- Enable: Demister operates automatically if outside temperature <3 °C (37 °F) after engine start; heated mirrors also operate.
- Disable: Demister does not operate automatically; heated mirrors also remain off.
- Change settings: Hold demister switch ~10 seconds. Feedback via sound and flashing lamp:
- Enable → Disable: 3 sounds, lamp flashes 3 times
