Mitsubishi L200

Inside Rear-View Mirror

Adjust the rear-view mirror only after making any seat adjustments so you have a clear view to the rear of the vehicle.

WARNING

  • Do not attempt to adjust the rear-view mirror while driving. Always adjust before driving.

Adjusting the Rear-View Mirror

Adjust the mirror to maximize the view through the rear window.

Vertical Mirror Position

The mirror can be moved up and down to adjust its vertical position.

Mirror Position

The mirror can be moved up/down and left/right to adjust its overall position.

Reducing Glare

Type 1

Use the lever (A) at the bottom of the mirror to reduce glare from headlamps at night.

  1. Normal
  2. Anti-glare
Type 2

The reflection factor of the mirror automatically adjusts to reduce glare from bright headlamps when the ignition switch is ON.

NOTE: Do not hang items on, or spray glass cleaner on the sensor (1), as reduced sensitivity could result.

Outside Rear-View Mirrors

To Adjust the Mirror Position

WARNING: Do not adjust mirrors while driving. Your vehicle is equipped with convex type mirrors; objects appear smaller and farther than they actually are. Do not use to estimate distance when changing lanes.

Manual Outside Rear-View Mirrors*

Adjust the mirror surface by hand as indicated by the arrows.

Electric Remote-Controlled Outside Mirrors*

Can be operated when the ignition switch is ON or ACC. Select the mirror with lever (A), then use switch (B) to adjust up, down, left, or right. Return lever (A) to middle position after adjustment.

Retracting and Extending the Outside Mirrors

The mirrors can be folded in to prevent damage in narrow areas.

CAUTION: Do not drive with mirrors folded in; it reduces rearward visibility.

Without Mirror Retractor Switch

Push mirrors toward the back of the vehicle to retract, pull forward to extend until it clicks.

With Mirror Retractor Switch

Use the switch with ignition ON/ACC to retract or extend mirrors. Do not extend by hand after retracting with switch. After ignition OFF/LOCK, mirrors can still be adjusted with switch for ~30 seconds.

NOTE: Be careful not to trap your hands. Avoid repeated use in freezing conditions to prevent motor burn-out.

Automatic Mirror Functions

  • Mirrors automatically extend when vehicle speed reaches 30 km/h or driver’s door closes (depending on key type).
  • Mirrors automatically retract when ignition is LOCK or doors are locked/unlocked using keyless entry/keyless operation key.
  • Functions can be modified; consult a MITSUBISHI MOTORS Authorized Service Point.

Heated Mirrors*

Press the rear window demister switch to defrost/demist mirrors. The indication lamp (A) illuminates while heating, which turns off automatically after ~20 minutes.

NOTE: Heated mirrors can also operate automatically. Consult authorized service for details.

Ignition Switch*

  • LOCK: Engine stopped, steering locked. Key can only be inserted/removed here.
  • ACC: Engine stopped, audio and electric devices can operate.
  • ON: All electrical devices operate.
  • START: Starter motor operates; release key after engine starts, returns to ON automatically.

NOTE: Vehicles with electronic immobilizer require matching key ID code to start engine.

Removing the Key

M/T: Push key in at ACC, turn to LOCK, then remove.

A/T: Set selector to P, push key in at ACC, turn to LOCK, then remove.

CAUTIONS

  • Do not remove ignition key while driving.
  • Stopping engine while driving disables brake assist and power steering.
  • Do not leave key in ON when engine is not running; battery may discharge.
  • Do not turn key to START while engine is running; may damage starter motor.

Engine Switch*

Engine starts only with preregistered keyless operation key (engine immobilizer function). Carrying the key allows engine start.

CAUTIONS

  • Do not drive if engine switch lamp flashes orange; contact service immediately.
  • If switch feels sticky or hard to operate, contact service immediately.

NOTES

  • Press switch fully to start engine or change operation mode; holding down is unnecessary if fully pressed.
  • Low battery in keyless key triggers 5-second warning lamp.

Operation Mode of Engine Switch

  • OFF: Switch lamp off. Cannot be set to OFF if A/T selector is not in P.
  • ACC: Operates electrical accessories; lamp illuminates orange.
  • ON: All electrical devices operate; lamp illuminates green, turns off when engine runs.

Changing Operation Mode

Press switch without brake (A/T) or clutch (M/T) to cycle through OFF → ACC → ON → OFF.

CAUTIONS

  • Set operation mode to OFF when engine not running to prevent battery drain.
  • After battery disconnection, previous mode is memorized; ensure mode is OFF before disconnecting.
  • OFF cannot be selected if keyless key is not detected.
  • If operation mode cannot change to OFF, move A/T selector to P; low battery may also prevent mode change, contact service.

ACC Power Auto-Cutout Function

After ~30 minutes in ACC, power to audio/electric devices cuts off automatically. Opening the driver’s door or using engine switch resumes power.

NOTE: When ACC auto-cutout occurs, steering wheel cannot lock, and keyless entry functions are disabled. Functions can be modified (time or deactivate feature). Consult authorized service for details.
