Speed Limiter Control States
There are 2 control states:
- LIMIT OFF: When the Speed Limiter is in standby, the vehicle speed can exceed the set speed.
- LIMIT: When the Speed Limiter is active, the vehicle is controlled to not exceed the set speed.
Indicators
- B - SPEED LIMITER ON indication: Appears when the Speed Limiter is started.
- C - Set speed: Displayed if it is stored.
To Start Up
Press the ON/OFF switch with the ignition in “ON” or operation mode in ON. The Speed Limiter indication appears in the combination meter.
To Activate
Accelerate or decelerate to desired speed and push down SET - switch (B). Release to store the speed. The Speed Limiter begins controlling the vehicle to not exceed the set speed.
Minimum Speed
If vehicle speed is lower than ~30 km/h (19 mph), the set speed is automatically set to 30 km/h (19 mph). Displayed in the combination meter along with control state LIMIT.
To Increase Set Speed
- RES + switch: Push continuously to gradually increase set speed. Release at desired speed. Each long press increases ~5 km/h (3 mph). Short taps increase 1 km/h per tap.
- CANCEL switch, accelerator pedal, or SET - switch: Press CANCEL (D) to deactivate, then accelerate to desired speed and press SET - switch to update set speed.
To Decrease Set Speed
- SET - switch: Push down to gradually decrease set speed. Release at desired speed. Each long press decreases ~5 km/h (3 mph). Short taps decrease 1 km/h per tap.
- CANCEL switch or service brake: Press CANCEL (D) to deactivate, then decelerate to desired speed and press SET - switch to update set speed.
Temporary Speed Increase
Driver can temporarily accelerate for emergency use. The Speed Limiter is deactivated temporarily and resumes once vehicle speed drops below the set speed. Always be careful of abrupt acceleration.
Deactivation
Deactivate by pressing CANCEL switch or the Speed Limiter ON/OFF switch. If deactivation occurs unexpectedly, stop using Speed Limiter and have vehicle inspected.
To Resume
If system memorized a set speed, push RES + switch (C) to resume control. Vehicle may decelerate as if accelerator pedal is fully released if speed exceeds set speed.
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)*
The LDW system uses a camera to detect lane markings and warns the driver if the vehicle is likely to drift out of its lane via audible and visual alerts.
Operating LDW
The system has the following states:
- Turning On: Ignition ON activates LDW system ON indication lamp.
- Turning Off: Press LDW switch to turn off the system; press again to reactivate.
Setting LDW Start State
- LDW 1 (Factory Setting): Automatically turns on every time the vehicle starts.
- LDW 2: Remembers the previous ON/OFF state before ignition OFF.
LDW Mode Setting
- Press LDW switch to turn off the system.
- Press and hold LDW switch for 10+ seconds.
- Release switch; buzzer sounds and mode changes.
Standby State
In standby, the system recognizes the lane and issues warnings if vehicle drifts. Conditions for standby mode:
- Vehicle speed ≥ 65 km/h (40 mph)
- Turn signals not active
- Hazard lamp off
- Brake not depressed
- Environmental conditions suitable for lane recognition
- System was ON
Lane Departure Warning
In standby, buzzer sounds intermittently and LDW lamp flashes amber when vehicle is about to or has left the lane. System returns to standby automatically after ~3 seconds of warning.
System Problem Warnings
- Too Hot LDW Camera: LDW may temporarily disable; system recovers automatically once cooled.
- LDW Fault: Amber LDW lamp illuminates; contact MITSUBISHI MOTORS Authorized Service Point.
CAUTION
- LDW has performance limitations; do not over-rely on it.
- LDW cannot replace driver attention or compensate for poor visibility.
- System may not detect lanes correctly in certain conditions (bad weather, unclear markings, etc.).
