C- RES + and D- CANCEL Switches (Cruise Control)
The RES + switch is used to increase the set speed and to return to the original set speed. The CANCEL switch is used to deactivate the set speed driving.
NOTE
- Press the cruise control switches correctly. The set speed driving may be deactivated automatically if two or more switches are pressed at the same time.
To Activate
- With the ignition switch in the “ON” position or operation mode in ON, press the CRUISE CONTROL ON/OFF switch (A) to turn on cruise control. The indication lamp in the meter cluster will illuminate.
- Accelerate or decelerate to your desired speed, then push down and release the SET - switch (B) when the indication lamp is illuminated. The vehicle will maintain the desired speed.
To Increase the Set Speed
There are 2 ways:
- RES + switch: Push up and hold while driving; speed increases gradually. Release when desired speed is reached. Short presses (<1s) increase speed ~1.6 km/h (1 mph) per press.
- Accelerator Pedal: While driving at set speed, use the pedal to reach desired speed, then push down SET - switch momentarily to set new speed.
To Decrease the Set Speed
There are 2 ways:
- SET - switch: Push down and hold while driving; speed decreases gradually. Short presses (<1s) reduce speed ~1.6 km/h (1 mph) per press.
- Brake Pedal: Depress the brake to disengage cruise control, then push down SET - switch momentarily to set new speed.
Temporarily Adjusting Speed
- Increase: Depress accelerator normally; release to return to set speed.
- Decrease: Depress brake; return to previous set speed with RES + switch.
To Deactivate
- Press the CRUISE CONTROL ON/OFF switch (A).
- Press the CANCEL switch (D).
- Depress the brake pedal.
- Set speed is also deactivated if clutch is pressed (M/T), speed drops ~15 km/h below set, speed ≤40 km/h, or ASTC activates.
WARNING
- On A/T vehicles, never shift to “N” while driving; engine braking is lost and accidents may occur.
- Set speed may also deactivate if engine speed approaches tachometer red zone.
CAUTION
- If set speed deactivates unexpectedly, switch OFF cruise control and have vehicle inspected.
To Resume Set Speed
If set speed is deactivated (per “To Deactivate”), push RES + switch (C) while driving ≥40 km/h (25 mph). Resume may fail if:
- CRUISE CONTROL ON/OFF is off.
- Ignition switch is OFF or operation mode is OFF.
- Indication lamp is off.
Speed Limiter
The Speed Limiter prevents the vehicle from exceeding a driver-set speed.
CAUTION
- On downhill, vehicle may exceed set speed; use service brake or downshift to maintain speed.
NOTE
- Clutch depression (M/T) deactivates Speed Limiter.
When Exceeding Set Speed
If vehicle exceeds set speed, the “LIMIT” control state and Speed Limiter symbol blink on the combination meter. A beep alert sounds after ~30 seconds if limit continues being exceeded. If speed drops below set, blinking and beep stop.
Speed Limiter Control Switches
Four switches on the steering wheel:
- A - SPEED LIMITER ON/OFF
- B - SET - (set current speed or decrease)
- C - RES + (resume or increase speed)
- D - CANCEL (cancel Speed Limiter)
NOTE
- Press switches one by one. Speed Limiter may cancel automatically if two or more switches are pressed simultaneously.
Speed Limiter Information Display
The multi-information display shows the Speed Limiter status in the combination meter.
