Seat Adjustment

Adjust the driver’s seat so that you are comfortable and able to reach the pedals, steering wheel, and switches while maintaining a clear field of vision.

WARNING

  • Do not attempt to adjust the seat while driving. This can cause loss of vehicle control and result in an accident. After adjustments are made, ensure the seat is locked in position by attempting to move it forward and rearward without using the adjusting mechanism.
  • It is extremely dangerous to ride in the cargo area (inside or outside) of a vehicle. The cargo area and rear seats should never be used as a play area by children.
  • Do not allow anyone to ride in areas not equipped with seats and seat belts. Ensure all occupants are properly seated and wearing seat belts, or secured in a child restraint.
  • To minimize injury risk during a collision or sudden braking, keep seatbacks in an almost upright position while driving. Reclined seatbacks reduce seat belt effectiveness and increase the risk of sliding under the belt.
  • Do not place objects under the seats. This may prevent secure locking and could cause damage or injury.

CAUTION

  • Ensure seat adjustment is performed by an adult or under adult supervision.
  • Do not place cushions between your back and the seatback while driving. This reduces head restraint effectiveness.
  • The reclining mechanism of the front manual seat is spring loaded. Hold the seatback or sit close to it when operating the lever.
  • When sliding the seats, avoid catching hands or feet.
  • On vehicles equipped with rear seats (Club cab and Double cab), take care not to inconvenience rear passengers when sliding or reclining seats.

  • Children, elderly, ill persons, people with sensitive skin, tired individuals, or those under the influence of alcohol or medication may be more susceptible to burns.
  • Do not place heavy or sharp objects on the seat.
  • Do not use blankets or insulated materials while using the heater.
  • Do not clean seats with benzine, kerosene, petrol, alcohol, or organic solvents.
  • If liquid is spilled on the seat, allow it to dry completely before using the heater.
  • Turn the heater off immediately if it malfunctions.
