Filling the Fuel Tank

WARNING

  • When handling fuel, comply with the safety regulations displayed by garages and filling stations.
  • Fuel is highly flammable and explosive. You could be burned or seriously injured when handling it. Always turn the engine off and keep away from flames, sparks and smoking materials. Refuel only in well-ventilated outdoor areas.
  • Before removing the fuel cap, discharge static electricity by touching a metal part of the vehicle or fuel pump.
  • Perform the entire refueling process yourself. Do not allow others near the fuel tank filler.
  • Do not move away from the filler during refueling to avoid building up static electricity.
  • Do not inhale fuel vapour. Fuel contains toxic substances.
  • Keep doors and windows closed while refueling to prevent vapour entering the cabin.
  • If the fuel cap must be replaced, use only a genuine MITSUBISHI MOTORS part.

Refueling Procedure

  1. Stop the engine before filling with fuel.

NOTE
  • While refueling, hang the fuel cap on the hook (A) located inside the fuel tank filler door.
  1. Insert the fuel nozzle fully into the tank opening.
CAUTION
  • Do not tilt the nozzle while filling.
  1. When the nozzle stops automatically, do not add more fuel.
  2. Type 1 & Type 2: Turn the cap clockwise until clicking sounds are heard, then gently close the filler door.
