WARNING

  • When taking a key on flights, do not press any switches while on the plane. The key emits electromagnetic waves that could affect aircraft operation.
  • When carrying a key in a bag, ensure switches cannot be pressed accidentally.
NOTE
  • The key is a precision electronic device with a built-in signal transmitter.
  • Do not expose to direct sunlight (e.g., on the dashboard).
  • Do not disassemble or modify the key.
  • Do not bend excessively or subject to strong impacts.
  • Do not expose to water.
  • Keep away from magnetic key rings and magnetic-field generating equipment (TVs, PCs, audio systems).
  • Keep away from strong electromagnetic devices such as mobile phones and medical equipment.
  • Do not clean with ultrasonic cleaners.
  • Do not expose to high temperature or humidity.

The engine will not start if the ID code registered in the immobilizer computer does not match the key’s ID code. If a key is lost, contact a MITSUBISHI MOTORS Authorized Service Point immediately.

Key Number Tag

The key number is stamped on the tag. Record the number and store it separately from the key. This allows ordering a replacement from a MITSUBISHI MOTORS Authorized Service Point if the original is lost.

Electronic Immobilizer (Anti-theft Starting System)

CAUTION
  • Do not alter or add to the immobilizer system. Modifications may cause failure.

The electronic immobilizer significantly reduces the possibility of vehicle theft by immobilizing the vehicle if an invalid start is attempted. Only registered keys can start the engine.

NOTE
  • If the key contacts metal objects or other immobilizer keys, the engine may not start.
  • If this occurs, remove interfering objects and try again.
  • If the engine still does not start, contact a MITSUBISHI MOTORS Authorized Service Point.
  • If keys are lost, take the vehicle and all remaining keys for re-registration.
  • Up to 4 keyless entry keys and 4 keyless operation keys can be registered.

  • Consult device manufacturers regarding radio wave effects on electro-medical devices.
NOTE
  • The key uses ultra-weak electromagnetic waves.
  • System may not operate properly near strong radio wave sources (power stations, airports).
  • Battery life is approximately 1–2 years depending on usage conditions.
  • If the system does not operate properly, use the emergency key.
