Auxiliary Key

There is a removable auxiliary key inside the transmitter.

Removing the Auxiliary Key
  1. Remove the lower cover while pressing the knob in the direction of the arrow.
  2. Remove the auxiliary key.
Installing the Auxiliary Key
  1. Install the auxiliary key as illustrated.
  2. Insert the tabs of the lower cover into the slots and install the cover.

Key Code Number Plate

A code number is stamped on the plate attached to the key set. Detach and store it in a safe place outside the vehicle for replacement key use.

If the auxiliary key is lost, consult an authorised repairer with the code number ready.


Keyless Entry System

The system remotely locks/unlocks the doors, liftgate/boot lid, fuel-filler flap and allows engine start without removing the key from your pocket.

CAUTION

Changes or modifications not expressly approved may void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

NOTE
  • Operation may vary due to local conditions.
  • The system operates only when ignition is OFF.
  • If range decreases, battery may be weak.
  • Battery life is about 1 year.
  • Up to 6 keys can be registered per vehicle.

Lock Button

Press to lock doors, liftgate/boot lid and fuel-filler flap. Hazard lights flash once and a beep sounds (advanced keyless models).

Unlock Button

Press to unlock doors and fuel-filler flap. Hazard lights flash twice and a beep sounds.

  • Driver door unlock can be configured.
  • Auto re-lock occurs if no door is opened within 30 seconds.
Boot Button

Press and hold to open the boot lid.

Power Saving Function

Limits transmitter battery consumption by disabling advanced keyless and push-button start functions.

Turning On
  1. Press lock button 4 times within 3 seconds.
  2. Hold lock button for 1.5 seconds.
  3. Confirm indicator light does not flash.
Turning Off
  1. Confirm indicator light does not flash.
  2. Press lock button 4 times within 3 seconds.
  3. Hold lock button for 1.5 seconds.

Operational Range

The system operates when the key is inside the vehicle or within operational range.

  • Engine may start even if key is just outside the vehicle.
  • Vehicle will not restart if key is outside after shutdown.

Key Suspend Function

If a key is left inside the vehicle, its functions are temporarily suspended. Press the unlock button on the key to restore operation.


Advanced Keyless Entry System

WARNING

Radio waves from the key may affect medical devices such as pacemakers. Consult a physician or device manufacturer before use.

The system allows locking/unlocking and opening the liftgate/boot lid while carrying the key.

NOTE

The advanced keyless system can be deactivated if required. Consult an authorised repairer for details.

Operational Range

The system operates when the key is within range of exterior or interior aerials.

  • Range may decrease due to low battery or radio interference.
  • System may not operate when very close to handles or windows.
Locking / Unlocking

The doors and liftgate/boot lid lock or unlock when within approximately 80 cm of the vehicle.

Opening the Liftgate/Boot Lid

The liftgate/boot lid can be opened when the key is within operational range of the exterior aerial.
