Front Side Radar Sensor*

Front Side Radar Sensor

Your vehicle is equipped with a front side radar sensor.

System Using Front Side Radar Sensor
  • Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA)

The front side radar sensor functions by detecting radio waves reflected off vehicles approaching from the front or obstructions.

The sensors are installed inside the front bumper (left and right sides).

CAUTION:
  • Keep the front bumper surface near the sensors clean.
  • Do not apply stickers near the sensors.
  • If the bumper receives a severe impact, stop the system and have the vehicle inspected by an Authorised Mazda Repairer.

  • Snow, ice, or mud on the bumper.
  • Bad weather (rain, snow, fog).
  • Stationary small objects, pedestrians, animals, shopping carts.
  • Low-height vehicles or vehicles that reflect radar poorly.

Rear Side Radar Sensor

Systems Using Rear Side Radar Sensor
  • Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
  • Smart Brake Support [Rear Crossing] (SBS-RC)

The rear side radar sensors detect radio waves reflected off vehicles approaching from the rear.

Sensors are installed inside the rear bumper (left and right sides).

CAUTION:
  • Keep the rear bumper near the sensors clean.
  • Do not apply stickers near the sensors.
  • If the rear bumper receives a severe impact, have the vehicle inspected.
Detection Limitations
  • Deformed bumper near the sensor.
  • Snow, ice, mud on bumper.
  • Bad weather conditions.
  • Stationary small objects or low-height vehicles.
