Smart Brake Support [Rear Crossing] (SBS-RC)
The SBS-RC assists in avoiding collisions and reducing damage when reversing out of a parking space.
It detects vehicles approaching from the rear left and right sides and applies brake control when a collision is determined unavoidable.
SBS-RC Operation
- Operates when shift/selector lever is in Reverse (R).
- If collision risk exists:
- Brakes are applied automatically.
- “BRAKE!” displayed on active driving display and multi-information display.
WARNING:
- Always visually check surroundings before reversing.
- System may not operate or may be delayed even if a vehicle is behind.
- Do not rely completely on SBS-RC.
- System responds only to vehicles, not walls, pedestrians, motorcycles, or animals.
Important Cautions
- Do not apply stickers to rear radar or rear camera.
- Do not disassemble radar or camera.
- If cracks or damage are visible, stop using system and consult an authorised repairer.
- Do not modify vehicle suspension or height.
- Do not spray high-pressure water directly on radar or camera.
Operating Conditions
