Function for Cancelling Illumination Dimmer
If the BSM warning indicator lights turn on when the position lights are turned on,
the brightness of the BSM warning indicator lights is dimmed.
If the BSM warning indicator lights are difficult to see due to glare from surrounding
brightness when travelling on snow-covered roads or under foggy conditions, press the
dimmer cancellation button to cancel the dimmer and increase the brightness of the
BSM warning indicator lights when they turn on.
Display Indicator
The detected approaching vehicle and warning are displayed in the
multi-information display and active driving display (vehicles equipped with active driving display).
-
The detected direction is displayed with a detection indicator (white) when
an approaching vehicle is detected.
-
If the direction indicator lever is operated to signal a lane change while a vehicle
is detected, the warning indicator colour changes to amber.
BSM Warning Beep
The BSM warning beep is activated simultaneously with the flashing of a BSM warning indicator light.
Cancelling Operation of Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)
The BSM system can be set to inoperable:
- Turn off BSM via vehicle settings.
- Turn off BSM using the i-ACTIVSENSE switch.
NOTE:
When the ignition is switched OFF, the system status before it was turned off is maintained.
If the BSM was operational before switching OFF the ignition, it will remain operational
the next time the ignition is switched ON.
Traffic Sign Recognition System (TSR)
The TSR helps prevent the driver from overlooking traffic signs and supports safer driving
by displaying recognised traffic signs on the active driving display or instrument cluster.
Traffic signs are recognised by the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) or read from the
navigation system.
The TSR displays:
- Speed limit signs (including auxiliary signs)
- Do not enter signs
- Stop signs
If the vehicle speed exceeds the indicated speed limit, the system notifies the driver
using a display indication and warning sound.
WARNING:
Always check traffic signs visually while driving. Depending on weather conditions
or sign visibility, a traffic sign may not be recognised or may be displayed incorrectly.
The driver remains responsible for observing actual traffic signs.
NOTE:
- TSR may not be supported in some countries or regions.
- TSR operates only if the navigation system SD card is inserted.
- TSR does not operate if the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) has a malfunction.
-
TSR may not operate normally under conditions such as heavy rain, fog, snow,
dirty windscreen, strong light, sharp turns, incorrect tyre pressure,
outdated map data, obscured or damaged traffic signs, or similar sign objects.
- TSR display can be set to invisible via vehicle settings.
Traffic Sign Display Indication
Speed Limit Signs (Including Auxiliary Signs)
-
Displayed when vehicle speed is approximately 1 km/h (0.6 mph) or faster and
a speed limit sign is recognised or read from navigation data.
-
Display stops when direction changes, a new speed limit is recognised,
navigation data is unavailable for a period, or the vehicle exceeds
the displayed limit by 30 km/h (19 mph) or more for a certain time.
-
If an auxiliary sign cannot be correctly classified, a simplified display is shown.
Do Not Enter Signs
- Displayed when vehicle speed is about 80 km/h (50 mph) or slower.
-
The Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) recognises the sign as applicable to the vehicle.
-
Display stops after a certain period of time has elapsed since passing the sign.
Stop Signs
- Displayed when vehicle speed is about 40 km/h (25 mph) or slower.
-
The Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) recognises the stop sign as applicable to the vehicle.
-
Display stops after a certain period of time has elapsed since it was shown.
