Air-conditioning system information is displayed on the display:
- Passenger temperature control dial
- SYNC (synchronized temperature) switch

Control Switches
AUTO Switch
By pressing the AUTO switch, the following functions are automatically controlled according to the selected temperature:
- Airflow temperature
- Amount of airflow
- Selection of airflow mode
- Outside/Recirculated air selection
- Air conditioner operation
- Seat warmer level selection*
- Heated steering wheel operation*
NOTE: When the AUTO switch indicator light is on, the system functions automatically. Operating the mode selector, fan control, or windscreen defroster switches will turn off the AUTO indicator, but other functions remain in auto control.
Power Switch (System On/Off)
Turns the air-conditioning system on or off.
Temperature Control Dial
Controls temperature. Clockwise = hot, anticlockwise = cold.
- SYNC on: Driver dial controls entire cabin temperature.
- SYNC off: Driver or front passenger dial controls each side independently.
- Setting the dial to lower/upper limit displays “Lo” or “Hi”.
- Temperature units can be synchronized with outside temperature display.
Fan Control Switch
Fan has 7 speeds. Selected speed is displayed.
Mode Selector Switch
Select desired airflow mode.
NOTE: Medium temperature with airflow set to foot + vents directs heated air to feet and cooler air through central/side vents. Defogging mode automatically selects outside air position.
A/C Switch
Turns air conditioner on/off. Pressing while AUTO is on toggles cooling/dehumidifying.
NOTE: May not function if outside temperature approaches 0°C (32°F).
Air Intake Selector Switch
Select outside or recirculated air:
- Recirculated air: Outside air shut off, use for tunnels, traffic, or quick cooling.
- Outside air: Air allowed to enter cabin, use for ventilation or defrosting.
WARNING: Do not recirculate air in cold or rainy weather as it may fog windows and impair vision.
SYNC (Synchronized Temperature) Switch
Switch between individual operation (driver/passenger) and interconnection (simultaneous) modes:
- Interconnection mode: Driver and passenger temperatures controlled simultaneously.
- Individual operation mode: Driver and passenger temperatures controlled independently.
Windscreen and Rear Window Defogger Switches
Press to defrost front windscreen or rear window.
Operation of Automatic Air Conditioner
- Press AUTO switch. Airflow mode, air intake, and amount of airflow are automatically controlled.
- Use temperature dial to select desired temperature. Front passenger can be set independently by turning passenger dial.
- To turn off system, press power switch.
NOTE:
- Temperature can be set between 15°C (60°F) and 29°C (84°F); recommended 22°C (72°F).
- Max hot/cold does not increase speed of temperature change.
- Heating restricts airflow until engine warms to prevent cold air from blowing.
Windscreen Defrosting and Defogging
Press windscreen defroster switch. Outside air selected automatically; air conditioner dehumidifies front windscreen and side windows; airflow increases.
WARNING: Set temperature to hot/warm when defogging. Cold setting may fog outside of windscreen and impair vision.
NOTE: Windows clear more easily with air conditioner on; increase airflow and temperature for faster defogging.
Sunlight/Temperature Sensor
Measures inside/outside temperature, humidity, and sunlight to set cabin temperature automatically.
CAUTION: Do not obstruct sensors; system may malfunction.
MZD Connect
MZD Connect provides entertainment, navigation, and vehicle information:
- Radio
- Bluetooth® Audio / Hands-Free Call / SMS
- USB Audio / USB Video
- USB port* / SD card slot* (navigation system)
- SD card (navigation system)
*USB/SD location depends on vehicle model.
Menu Functions
- Information: Fuel efficiency, vehicle status, owner's manual.
- Entertainment: FM, AM, DAB*, Bluetooth, USB Audio/Video.
- Notifications: Displays vehicle notifications.
- Communication: Hands-free call and SMS via Bluetooth.
- Navigation: Navigation system (with SD card inserted); compass if SD card absent.
- Settings: Configure displays, sound, safety, vehicle, connectivity, system settings.
- Apple CarPlay: Connect iPhone to USB slot.
- Android Auto: Connect Android device to USB slot.
WARNING:
- Adjust audio only while vehicle is stopped.
- Do not allow connection cords to tangle with gear selector.
- Do not adjust portable audio while driving.
CAUTION: Adjust audio volume to still hear outside sounds including horns and emergency sirens.
NOTE:
- Do not use MZD Connect for long periods with engine off to avoid battery drain.
- Mobile phones or CB radios nearby may cause audio noise; not a malfunction.
