Peugeot 208 2016-2022 Temporary Puncture Repair Kit

Temporary Puncture Repair Kit

Access to the Kit

The vehicle is equipped with a temporary puncture repair kit which allows the tyre to be repaired and inflated temporarily.

Composition of the Kit
  1. 12 V compressor with integral pressure gauge.
  2. Sealant cartridge with integral hose.
  3. Speed limit sticker.

The speed limit sticker must be secured inside the vehicle within the driver’s field of vision to remind you that a wheel is in temporary use.

The vehicle's electrical system allows the compressor to be connected long enough to inflate a tyre after a puncture repair.

Do not exceed a speed of 50 mph (80 km/h) when driving with a tyre repaired using this type of kit.

Repair Procedure
  • Switch off the ignition.
  • Secure the speed limit sticker inside the vehicle.
  • Uncoil the pipe stored under the compressor.
  • Avoid removing any foreign bodies that have penetrated the tyre.
  • Remove the valve cap from the tyre and keep it in a clean area.
  • Connect the hose from the sealant cartridge to the tyre valve and tighten firmly.
  • Connect the pipe from the compressor to the sealant cartridge.
  • Turn the sealant cartridge and secure it in the slot provided on the compressor.
Inflating the Tyre
  • Check that the compressor switch is in the "O" position.
  • Uncoil the electrical cable fully from under the compressor.
  • Connect the compressor plug to the vehicle's 12V socket.
  • Switch on the ignition.
  • Start the compressor by placing the switch at the "I" position.
  • Allow the compressor to run until the tyre pressure reaches 2.0 bar.

The sealant product is injected into the tyre under pressure. Do not disconnect the pipe from the valve during this operation.

The sealant product is harmful if swallowed and may irritate the eyes. Keep it out of reach of children.

The use-by date is printed on the cartridge. After use, do not discard the cartridge by the roadside. Dispose of it through a PEUGEOT dealer or an authorised waste disposal site.

If after about 5–7 minutes the pressure is not reached, the tyre cannot be repaired. Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop for assistance.

Checking and Inflating the Tyre
  • Place the compressor switch in the "O" position.
  • Remove the repair kit.
  • Remove the tyre valve cap and keep it clean.
  • Uncoil the pipe stored under the compressor.
  • Screw the pipe onto the valve and tighten firmly.
  • Check that the compressor switch is in the "O" position.
  • Fully uncoil the electric cable.
  • Connect the compressor plug to the 12 V socket.
  • Switch on the ignition.

Drive immediately for approximately 3 miles (5 km) at reduced speed (between 15 and 35 mph / 20 and 60 km/h) to seal the puncture.

Stop and check the repair and tyre pressure using the kit.

Adjusting the Pressure
  • Start the compressor by placing the switch at the "I" position.
  • Adjust the pressure to the value indicated on the vehicle's tyre pressure label.
  • To deflate, press the black button on the compressor pipe at the valve connector.
  • Once the correct pressure is reached, place the switch at the "O" position.
  • Remove and store the repair kit.

After using the kit, check the tyre pressures and reinitialise the under-inflation detection system.
