Peugeot 208 2016-2022 Cruise Control
Cruise Control
"This is the speed the driver wishes to maintain". This driving assistance system, for use when traffic is flowing, allows a speed set by the driver to be maintained, except on a steep gradient.
Mode Selection
- Cruise control mode selection / off
- Increase the registered speed setting
- Decrease the registered speed setting
- Cruise control Off / Resume
Activation Requirements
- Manual gearbox: vehicle speed above 25 mph (40 km/h) with 4th gear or higher engaged
- Electronic gearbox: vehicle speed above 25 mph (40 km/h) with 2nd gear or higher in manual mode, or position A selected
- Automatic gearbox: vehicle speed above 25 mph (40 km/h) with 2nd gear or higher in manual mode, or position D selected
Steering Mounted Controls
Place the thumbwheel at the "CRUISE" position: the cruise control mode is selected but is not switched on (PAUSE).
Registering a Cruise Speed Setting
- Bring the vehicle to the desired speed by pressing the accelerator
- Press the SET + or SET - button to register the speed
- The vehicle will maintain the registered speed, though temporary acceleration is possible
Pause and Resume
- Pause (OFF): press the button or brake/clutch pedal
- Resume: press the button after pausing to return to the last registered speed
Changing the Registered Speed Setting
To register a higher speed: press SET +; a short press increases by 1 mph (km/h), pressing and holding increases in steps of 5 mph (km/h).
To register a lower speed: press SET -; short press decreases by 1 mph (km/h), pressing and holding decreases in steps of 5 mph (km/h).
It is possible to accelerate beyond the registered speed; the system will return to the registered speed once the accelerator is released.
Safety Advice
- Be vigilant when modifying the cruise control setting; speed may change quickly
- Do not use on slippery roads or in heavy traffic
- On steep descents, cruise control cannot prevent exceeding the registered speed
- Ensure floor mats are positioned correctly and never overlap
Operating Fault
If the registered speed setting is erased and replaced by three dashes, have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or qualified workshop.
Switching Off
Without using the accelerator: place the thumbwheel at "0" position; the display returns to total mileage recorder.
After switching off the ignition, all registered speed settings are lost.
Speed Settings via Touch Screen
- Go to main menu → "Driving" menu → secondary page → "Speed settings"
- Select speed to modify → Press "Modify" → Enter new value → Press "Confirm" to save
- Use the buttons to select/deselect all speeds or restore factory settings
- Up to 5 speed settings can be saved for both the speed limiter "LIMIT" and cruise control "CRUISE"
Selecting a Saved Speed
Press and hold the "+" or "-" button; the system stops at the closest saved speed. Press and hold again to select another saved speed. A reminder of the speed and system state (on/off) is displayed in the instrument panel.
