Peugeot 208 2016-2022 Foglamps

Foglamps

Front foglamps and rear foglamp:

When the headlamps switch off with automatic illumination of headlamps (AUTO model) or when the dipped beam headlamps are switched off manually, the foglamps and sidelamps remain on.

  • Turn the ring rearwards to switch off the foglamps; the sidelamps will then switch off
  • Rotate and release the ring:
    • Forwards first time: switch on front foglamps
    • Forwards second time: switch on rear foglamp
    • Rearwards first time: switch off rear foglamp
    • Rearwards second time: switch off front fog lamps

Rear foglamp only:

  • To switch it on, turn the ring forwards
  • To switch it off, turn the ring rearwards

The foglamps operate with dipped or main beam headlamps on.

In good or rainy weather, both day and night, front and rear foglamps are prohibited; they may dazzle other drivers. Use only in fog or snow. Do not forget to switch them off when no longer necessary.

Switching on the lamps after ignition is off

Rotate the ring to "0" then to the desired position. A temporary audible signal warns that the lighting is on. Lamps (except sidelamps) switch off automatically after 30 minutes to avoid battery discharge.

Switching off the lamps when ignition is off

All lamps turn off immediately, except for dipped beam if guide-me-home lighting is active.

Daytime Running Lamps

Compulsory in certain countries, they come on automatically when the engine is started to make the vehicle more visible.

  • LED lamps come on when the engine starts
  • Depending on the country:
    • Daytime running lamps in day mode, sidelamps in night mode
    • Sidelamps in both day and night mode
  • Function can be set in vehicle configuration menu

Deactivation occurs after operating the lighting control stalk or next engine start; activation is immediate. Instruments and controls are illuminated only in night mode with manual or automatic headlamps.

Direction Indicators

  • Lower the stalk fully when moving left
  • Raise the stalk fully when moving right
  • Three flashes: move the stalk briefly without going past resistance; indicators flash 3 times
  • If indicators are left on >20 seconds, audible signal increases if speed >40 mph (60 km/h)
  • Useful for lane changes on fast roads

Headlamp Adjustment

Adjust beams according to vehicle load to avoid dazzling others:

  • 0: 1 or 2 people in front seats (initial setting)
  • Intermediate setting: 1.5 people
  • 5 people: full load
  • Driver + maximum authorised load

When travelling abroad in countries with opposite traffic flow, adjust headlamps accordingly.
