Switching Parking Aid On and Off

Using the button: Press the parking aid button and use the menu to turn the system on or off.

Using the touchscreen: You can switch the front or rear sensors on or off using the touchscreen under the Features menu, then Driver Assistance.

Rear Parking Aid

What Is the Rear Parking Aid

Rear parking sensors detect objects behind your vehicle when in reverse (R).

Rear Parking Aid Limitations
  • Coverage decreases at the outer corners.
  • When using a programmed MyKey, you cannot switch it off.
  • Sensors are active in reverse (R) below 5 mph (8 km/h).
  • Coverage extends up to 71 in (180 cm) from the rear bumper.
  • No audible warning is provided in neutral (N).

The system detects large objects when reversing or when objects approach slowly.

Locating Rear Sensors

The rear parking aid sensors are located in the rear bumper.

Audible Warnings

A warning tone sounds as your vehicle approaches an object. The tone increases in frequency as distance decreases and becomes continuous within 12 in (30 cm). The sound pauses if stationary and resumes when moving.

Audio volume may temporarily reduce when warnings sound.

Front Parking Aid

What Is the Front Parking Aid

Front parking sensors detect objects in front of your vehicle.

Front Parking Aid Limitations
  • Active when not in park (P) and below 5 mph (8 km/h).
  • Coverage extends up to 28 in (70 cm).
  • Behavior varies depending on gear selection.
Locating Front Sensors

The sensors are located in the front bumper.

Audible Warnings

A tone sounds when objects are within range. The tone increases as distance decreases and becomes continuous within 12 in (30 cm).

Side Parking Aid

What Is the Side Parking Aid

Side sensors map objects near the sides of your vehicle.

Side Parking Aid Limitations
  • Coverage extends up to 24 in (60 cm).
  • Disabled if vehicle remains stationary too long.
  • Unavailable when ABS or traction control activates.
  • Disabled in park (P).
  • Requires steering angle data — drive straight to recalibrate.

The system may not detect objects approaching directly from the side unless they pass front or rear sensors.

Locating Side Sensors

Sensors are located along the sides of the front and rear bumpers.

Audible Warnings

An audible tone sounds when objects enter the detection zone and increases as distance decreases.

Parking Aid Indicators

  • Distance waves move toward the vehicle icon as objects get closer.
  • Indicator lines remain grey if no object is detected.
  • Visual indication stays active in reverse (R).
  • In other gears, indicators turn off shortly after stopping.

Parking Aids – Troubleshooting

If a fault occurs, a warning message appears in the instrument cluster or touchscreen. A front or rear fault disables the side parking aid.
