Remote Control Limitations

This device complies with FCC Part 15 and Industry Canada standards. Operation is subject to interference acceptance and non-interference conditions.
Make sure a valid remote control is within 3 ft (1 m) of the vehicle. The system may not function if:
- The remote remains stationary for about a minute.
- The vehicle battery is discharged.
- The remote battery is low.
- Radio interference occurs.
- The remote is too close to metal or electronic devices.
Using the Remote Control
Warning: Never leave a remote unattended in the vehicle. Children or pets could activate controls.
- Unlock: Press to unlock all doors.
- Lock: Press to lock all doors.
- Remote Start: Press twice within 3 seconds (if equipped).
- Liftgate: Press twice to open or close.
- Panic Alarm: Press to activate alarm.
Removing the Key Blade
Push the release button on the passive key and pull out the key blade.
Sounding the Panic Alarm
Press the panic button to activate. Press again or switch ignition on to cancel.
Locating Your Vehicle
Press the lock button twice within three seconds to flash the signal lamps.
Changing the Remote Control Battery
Battery Safety: Keep batteries away from children. Seek immediate medical help if swallowed.
- Remove the key blade.
- Use a coin to remove the battery cover.
- Carefully remove the battery.
- Install a CR2450 battery (+ facing up).
- Reassemble the remote.
Dispose of batteries responsibly. Replacement does not erase programming.
Replacing a Lost Remote
Purchase replacements from an authorized dealer who can program them for your vehicle.
Programming the Remote Control
You may program up to four remotes. Two working remotes are required.
- Insert first programmed remote into backup slot and press ignition button.
- Repeat with second programmed remote.
- Insert new remote and press ignition button.
- Verify operation.
If unsuccessful, repeat or contact an authorized dealer.

Programming Your Phone
- Download the Lincoln Way app.
- Create/sign in to account.
- Add VIN and authorize vehicle.
- Follow prompts to activate phone key.
- Set backup start passcode.
Resetting Phone as a Key
- Touchscreen → Settings → General → Reset.
- Select Phone as a Key Reset.
- Confirm reset.
