Time
Setting the Time

- Turn the Controller until desired hours are displayed.
- Press the Controller.
- Turn the Controller until desired minutes are displayed.
- Press the Controller. The time is stored.
Setting the Time Format

Brightness
Setting the Brightness

- Turn the Controller until desired brightness is set.
- Press the Controller. Settings are stored for the active profile.
Note: Depending on light conditions, brightness settings may not be clearly visible.
LED Ring on the Central Instrument Cluster
Concept
The LED ring displays light animations representing specific functions.
Basic Displays
Basic functions like the tachometer can be displayed continuously if desired.
Event Displays
Functions displayed temporarily, such as volume or temperature, can be shown as event displays. Some vehicle assistance functions also appear here.
Example: Tachometer
- Arrow 1: current RPM
- Arrow 2: prewarning field
- Arrow 3: warning field
Switching On/Off LED Ring

Adjusting the LED Ring

Head-up Display
Concept
Projects important information into the driver’s field of vision, e.g., speed, without diverting attention from the road.
Safety Information
WARNING: When extending/retracting the projection screen, body parts can be jammed. Ensure area is clear.
NOTE: The Head-up Display has sensitive components. Do not place objects on it or manually move parts.
Overview
Switching on/off:
- Via CID: "Settings" → "Head-Up Display" → "Head-Up Display"

Shows:
- Speed
- Navigation system
- Check Control messages
- Instrument cluster selection lists
- Driver assistance systems
Selecting Displays
- Via CID: "Settings" → "Head-Up Display" → "Displayed information"
- Select desired displays. Settings stored for active profile.
Adjusting Brightness
- Via CID: "Settings" → "Head-Up Display" → "Brightness"
- Turn the Controller to adjust. Press Controller. Stored for active profile.
Low beams can additionally influence brightness, refer to page 113.
Adjusting Height
- Via CID: "Settings" → "Head-Up Display" → "Height"
- Turn Controller until desired height is reached. Press Controller. Settings stored.
Setting Rotation
- Via CID: "Settings" → "Head-Up Display" → "Rotation"
- Turn Controller until desired setting. Press Controller. Settings stored.
Display Visibility
Visibility is affected by:
- Seating position
- Objects on HUD cover
- Sunglasses with polarization filters
- Wet roads
- Unfavorable lighting conditions
John Cooper Works: Sport Displays in Head-up Display
General Information
Sport displays assist a sporty driving style. When activated, navigation content is not displayed.
Switching On
- Via CID: "Settings" → "Head-Up Display" → "Displayed information" → "Sport displays"
Displayed Information
- Speed
- Shift point indicator
- Gear display
- Current engine speed
- Warning field, speed
Shift Point Indicator
Indicates optimum shifting point for best acceleration with sporty driving style.
Functional Requirements
- Steptronic Sport transmission: Manual mode M/S and, if necessary, DTC activated
- Accelerator pedal pressed fully
Display
Successive gray fields indicate upcoming shift. Shift immediately when red fields light up. When max speed is reached, all shift indicators flash. Exceeding max speed interrupts fuel supply to protect engine.
