Overview - Buttons for the Central Locking System

Locking

Press the central locking button with front doors closed.

  • The fuel filler flap remains unlocked.
  • The vehicle is not secured against theft when locking.
Unlocking

Press the central locking button to unlock the vehicle.

Opening Doors
  • Press button to unlock all doors, then pull the door handle above the armrest.
  • Front doors: pull door handle to open; other doors remain locked.
  • Back doors: pull door handle twice; first unlocks, second opens. Other doors remain locked.
Comfort Access - Concept

The vehicle can be accessed without using the remote control if it is in close proximity (e.g., in your pocket). Comfort Access supports:

  • Unlocking and locking the vehicle
  • Convenient closing
  • Opening the tailgate
Functional Requirements
  • Remote must be outside near doors to lock vehicle.
  • Next unlocking/locking cycle available after ~2 seconds.
Unlocking via Outer Door Handle

Press the button on the driver's or front passenger's handle. Depending on settings, only driver’s door and fuel flap may unlock. Repeated press locks vehicle again if doors were opened from inside.

Locking via Outer Door Handle

Press the button on the driver's or front passenger's handle to lock vehicle.

Convenient Closing
WARNING: Body parts can be jammed during convenient closing. Ensure area is clear.

Press and hold button on door handle to close windows, sunroof, and fold exterior mirrors.

Opening Tailgate

Press the tailgate button. Locked doors remain locked. Do not leave remote in cargo area.

WARNING: Ensure area is clear of body parts when opening/closing tailgate.

NOTE: Tailgate swings back/up; sharp objects may damage rear window or heating conductors.

Opening & Closing
  • From outside: press tailgate button or hold remote ~1 sec.
  • From inside: stationary vehicle, press button in driver floor area (Steptronic: once, Manual: twice).
  • To close: use recessed grips on tailgate interior trim.
Personal Profile - Concept

Personal Profiles store settings for multiple drivers. Each remote has an assigned driver profile. Unlocking activates profile and applies stored settings.

Functional Requirements
  • Driver must carry only their own remote.
  • Driver unlocks vehicle and enters via driver’s door.

Profile Management

Profiles can be opened, guest profiles used, renamed, reset, exported, or imported via Central Information Display (CID) under Settings > Profiles. Guest profile cannot be renamed or assigned to remote.

Display Profile List at Startup

Option to show profile list on each start is available via CID under Settings > Profiles > Options > Display user list at startup.

System Limits
  • Passenger unlocks vehicle with own remote while another person drives.
  • Driver unlocks via Comfort Access with multiple remotes present.
  • Driver changes without locking/unlocking.
  • Multiple remotes outside vehicle.
Settings via CID

Unlocking doors and tailgate, automatic locking, and confirmation signals can be adjusted via Settings > Doors/key.

Alarm System - General Information

Vehicle alarm reacts to:

  • Unauthorized opening of doors, hood, or tailgate
  • Movements inside car
  • Vehicle tilt (wheel theft, towing)
  • Battery disconnection
  • Improper use of Onboard Diagnosis socket

Signals: acoustic alarm, hazard lights, or daytime running light flashes.

Indicator Light on Interior Mirror

Alarm system is switched off/on automatically when unlocking/locking via remote control or Comfort Access.
