Alarm System

General Information

When the vehicle is locked, the vehicle alarm system reacts to the following changes:

  • Unauthorized opening of a door, hood, or tailgate
  • Movements in the car's interior
  • Changes in vehicle tilt (e.g., wheel theft, towing)
  • Disconnected battery voltage
  • Improper use of the Onboard Diagnosis socket

The alarm signals these changes visually and acoustically:

  • Acoustic alarm (may be suppressed depending on local regulations)
  • Hazard warning system activation
  • Flashing daytime running lights
Indicator Light on Interior Mirror

The indicator light shows the alarm status:

  • Flashes briefly every 2 seconds: alarm switched on
  • Flashes ~10 seconds, then every 2 seconds: interior motion sensor or tilt alarm not active (doors/hood/tailgate not properly closed)
  • Goes out after unlocking: vehicle not tampered with
  • Flashes after unlocking until ignition is on (max 5 minutes): alarm has been triggered
Opening Doors/Tailgate with Alarm Active
  • Opening doors via integrated key triggers alarm. Switch off alarm via CID or remote control.
  • Tailgate can be opened while alarm is on; once closed, it is monitored again if doors are locked. Hazard lights flash once.

Avoiding Unintentional Alarms
