TOWING THE BROKEN-DOWN CAR
This paragraph describes the conditions and methods to transport and tow a broken-down car with a breakdown truck.
Warnings
- The car should be transported with all four wheels lifted from the ground on the platform of a roadside assistance car. Avoid towing with only front or rear wheels lifted; it could damage the body or gearbox.
- The assistance car must be equipped with appropriate lifting equipment to avoid damaging the car.
- Attach tow equipment to main structural components, not bumpers or brackets.
- Comply with assistance and towing regulations in your country.
- Do not use front or rear suspension components as fastening points; incorrect towing may damage the car.
- Inform assistance car operators of the car's minimum ground clearance to avoid bumper contact with equipment.

- RWD versions: A: 12.880°, B: 17.105°
- AWD versions: A: 15.160°, B: 18.400°

REAR WHEEL DRIVE (RWD) VERSIONS

WARNING: Non-compliance may cause serious damage.
ALL-WHEEL DRIVE (AWD) VERSIONS
Recommended: tow the car with all four wheels lifted.
- Avoid lifting only front or rear wheels; this may damage transmission or transfer unit.
- Incorrect towing may cause serious damage not covered by warranty.
TOWING THE CAR (SHORT DISTANCE)
A tow ring is provided in the tools container inside the luggage compartment.
- Release the cap fig. 276 or 277 by pressing on the upper part.
- Take the tow hook from its housing and clean the threaded housing.
- Tighten the tow hook about 11 turns.
WARNING: The cable angle must not exceed 15° (fig. 278).
- Move ignition to ON then STOP without opening door.
