Alarm (where provided)
Alarm Activation
The alarm goes off in the following cases:
- Wrongful opening of doors, bonnet or luggage compartment (perimeter protection)
- Operation of starting device with a non-validated key
- Cutting of the battery leads
- Movement inside the passenger compartment (volumetric protection)
- Anomalous lifting or tilting of the vehicle (anti-lift protection)
Activation of the alarm triggers an acoustic warning and the direction indicators.
WARNING: The alarm function is ensured by the Engine Immobilizer system, which is automatically activated when you leave the car with the electronic key and lock the doors.
NOTE: The alarm system is adapted to meet requirements in various countries.
Switching on the Alarm
- Close all doors, bonnet and tailgate
- Turn the ignition device to STOP
- Press and release the lock button on the electronic key
- The alarm can also be engaged via the door handle lock button (Passive Entry)
When activated, visual and acoustic signals are emitted and the front door handle LEDs flash.
WARNING: If repeated acoustic signals are emitted, check that all doors, bonnet and luggage compartment are correctly closed. If the issue persists, contact an Alfa Romeo Dealership.
Turning the Alarm Off
- Press the unlock button on the electronic key
- Two flashes of the direction indicators (where provided)
- Two brief acoustic signals (where provided)
- Doors are unlocked
WARNING: The alarm does not switch off when opening the doors using the metal insert in the key.
Volumetric / Anti-lift Protection (where provided)
- Completely close all side windows
- Press the dedicated button before activating the alarm to disable the function
- LED flashes to confirm deactivation
The deactivation must be repeated every time the instrument panel is switched off.
Disarming the Alarm
To completely disable the alarm for long periods:
- Lock the doors using the metal insert in the driver side door lock
Doors
Locking / Unlocking from the Inside
- Doors automatically lock above 20 km/h (Auto relock)
- Press the door panel button to unlock doors
- Press the button again to lock doors
Locking / Unlocking from the Outside
Locking
- Press the lock button on the electronic key
- Doors can lock even if the tailgate is open (tailgate locks when closed)
Unlocking
- Press the unlock button on the electronic key
Emergency Locking / Unlocking
- Use the metal insert inside the electronic key
- Insert and rotate it in the driver side door lock
Passive Entry (where provided)
The Passive Entry system detects the electronic key near the doors or luggage compartment.
- Doors unlock by grasping the handle
- Unlock behavior depends on Connect system settings
WARNING: Gloves or wet handles may reduce system sensitivity.
Door Locking
- Press the locking button on the door handle or tailgate
- Wait 2 seconds before attempting to reopen the doors
Driver Side Emergency Opening
- Remove the cover of the electronic key
- Extract the metal insert
- Insert and rotate it in the driver side door lock
Luggage Compartment Access
- Approach with a valid key and press the opening button
- Tailgate will not lock if a key is detected inside
WARNING: Always make sure the tailgate is properly closed before driving.
Power Lock (where provided)
This safety system disables interior door handles and locking buttons.
- Activated by pressing the lock button twice quickly
- Direction indicators flash three times when active
The system deactivates automatically when doors are unlocked or ignition is turned ON.
Child Safety Device
- Prevents rear doors from opening from inside
- Can only be engaged with doors open
- Remains engaged even after electric unlocking
WARNING: Always activate the child safety device when transporting children.
Unlocking Doors with a Flat Battery
- Insert the metal key into the release housing
- Turn clockwise (right doors) or anticlockwise (left doors)
- Use external handles to open rear doors if child lock is active
Seats
The front seats can be adjusted for maximum comfort and safety.
- Driver must be able to reach the steering wheel with wrists
- Brake pedal must be fully pressable with the left foot
