The vehicle is equipped with a Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter and a Keyless Ignition Node (KIN) to enter, start, and protect the vehicle. The RKE transmitter must be inside the vehicle.
The Keyless Ignition Node has three operating setups indicated on the outer ring. Press and release the middle button to switch setups without starting the engine. The active setup indicator turns amber.
The engine starts by pressing the START/STOP button with the brake pedal pressed and the device set in any operating mode.
If the ignition switch does not change when pressing the button, the key fob battery may be low or discharged. Replace the battery to restore normal operation.
You can still operate the ignition using a discharged key fob by pressing the nose side (opposite the emergency key) of the fob against the START/STOP button.
The vehicle includes two programmed key fobs. Each contains an RKE transmitter and an emergency key.
The emergency key allows manual door unlocking if the vehicle or key fob battery is dead. It can also be kept separately when using valet parking.
To remove the emergency key:
Opening the driver’s door while the ignition is in ACC or RUN (engine off) triggers an audible reminder and a message in the instrument cluster to switch ignition to OFF.
If left in ACC or RUN, locking the vehicle automatically switches the ignition to OFF.
With the MTC+ system, power windows, radio, sunroof (if equipped), and outlets remain active for up to 10 minutes after switching off ignition. Opening a front door cancels this feature.
This system prevents unauthorized operation by disabling the engine. It operates automatically and does not require activation.
Only programmed key fobs can start the vehicle. The security light illuminates for a bulb check when the ignition is placed in RUN.
If the light remains on or activates during driving, an electronic fault exists — contact an authorized dealer immediately.
Regulatory information for RF devices is available through Maserati’s website or official mobile apps.
Only authorized dealers can duplicate and program key fobs. Bring all key fobs when servicing the system.
The alarm monitors doors, liftgate, and ignition operations. It includes interior motion sensing and anti-lift protection.
When triggered, the system activates audible alarms, flashing lights, and dashboard indicators.
