Child Restraint Systems & Park Assist

LATCH-Compatible Child Restraint Installation

  • Secure the child seat to the “U-shaped” lower metal rings on the rear seat.
  • Fix the top tether strap to the anchor located behind the backrest.
  • Lift the headrest and route the tether for the most direct path through the headrest slide rods.
  • Tighten the upper strap to the tension recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Fully lower the headrest.
NOTE: Refer to the child seat instructions for detailed installation guidance.
WARNING:
  • Install child seats only when the vehicle is stationary.
  • Incorrect tether anchoring can cause injury; use only the anchor directly behind the seat.
  • Ensure tether straps do not slip between seatbacks.
  • Stow all unused seat belts out of reach of children.
  • Improper installation can lead to severe injury or death. Follow manufacturer instructions exactly.
  • Child restraint anchorages are not to be used for adult belts or other equipment.

Important Safety Notices for Children

  • Always install child seats in the rear — safest in collisions.
  • Keep child restraint instructions in the vehicle.
  • Use one restraint system per child; never share one seat between two children.
  • Ensure seat belts do not restrict the child's throat.
  • Check that seat belts are fully buckled.
  • Never allow a child to sit improperly or unbuckle during driving.
  • Never place the shoulder belt under arms or behind back.
  • Never hold a child on your lap; replace child seat after an accident.

Transporting Pets

Air bags can harm unrestrained pets. Pets should be secured in the rear seat using pet harnesses or carriers secured by seat belts.

Park Assist System (ParkSense)

The Park Assist system provides visual and audible warnings about obstacles near the front and rear bumpers. Optional surround-view cameras may assist in complex maneuvers.

  • Park Assist retains last system state (enabled/disabled) from previous ignition cycle.
  • System active only when shift lever is in R (Reverse) or D (Drive).
  • Deactivates when vehicle speed exceeds ~7.5 mph (12 km/h), reactivates below ~6.2 mph (10 km/h).

Park Assist Sensors

  • Rear bumper: 4 sensors detect obstacles up to ~78 in (200 cm).
  • Front bumper: 6 sensors detect obstacles up to ~50 in (120 cm).

Park Assist Warning Display

The warning display is available if “Sound + Display” is selected in MTC+ settings. The instrument cluster shows the system status and obstacle distance.

  • Detection areas: Front divided into 4 arcs; Rear into 5 arcs.
  • Arcs light up according to obstacle distance: Green (far), Amber (medium), Red (near).
  • Flashing and sound alerts correspond to distance and position of the obstacle.
