Parking Sensor System

The audible (front and rear) and visual (rear) parking sensor system consists of proximity sensors installed in the rear bumper. The sensors detect any obstacle behind the vehicle, including people, vehicles, trees, or fences during manoeuvres.

Certain objects detected at the beginning of the manoeuvre may not be detected at the end due to blind spots between and below the sensors (e.g., stakes, roadwork cones, pavement posts).

Engage Reverse Gear
  • An audible signal confirms activation of the system when reverse gear is engaged.
  • The proximity information is indicated by an audible signal that becomes more rapid as the vehicle approaches the obstacle.
  • When the distance to the obstacle is less than ~30 cm, the audible signal becomes continuous.
Activation / Deactivation

You can activate or deactivate the system by pressing the button. The activation/deactivation status is stored when the vehicle stops.

Engage Forward Gear

Front parking sensors are triggered when an obstacle is detected in front of the vehicle and the speed is below 6 mph (10 km/h). The speaker tone indicates whether the obstacle is in front or behind the vehicle.

Malfunction

If the LED on the button lights up with an audible signal and a message on the screen, contact a CITROËN dealer or qualified workshop.

Good Practice
  • Ensure sensors are not covered with mud, ice, or snow in bad weather or winter.
  • The system is deactivated automatically if towing a trailer or using a bicycle carrier.
  • Deactivate the system if the vehicle is fitted with a rear ladder or transporting a load exceeding the vehicle length.

Reversing Camera

  • Activated automatically when reverse gear is engaged.
  • Image displayed on the touchscreen tablet; can be used together with parking sensors.
  • Cannot replace driver vigilance.
  • Do not direct high-pressure water jets within 30 cm of the camera lens.

Guide lines on the display:

  • Blue lines: general vehicle direction.
  • Red lines: ~30 cm beyond the rear bumper.
  • Green lines: ~1–2 m beyond the rear bumper.
  • Turquoise curves: maximum turning circle.

Opening the tailgate hides the display. Clean the camera regularly with a soft, dry cloth.

ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System)

The ABS and EBFD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) systems improve vehicle stability and manoeuvrability, especially on slippery surfaces. ABS prevents wheel lock, and EBFD controls braking pressure wheel by wheel.

If the warning lamp comes on with an audible signal and message, it indicates a malfunction that could result in loss of vehicle control. If combined with brake and STOP lamps, it indicates EBFD malfunction.

Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA)

In an emergency, press the brake pedal firmly without releasing it. The system triggers based on pedal speed to reach optimal braking pressure faster.

Good Practice
  • ABS activates automatically in wheel lock risk situations. It does not reduce braking distance.
  • On slippery surfaces, ABS may increase braking distance. Press firmly on the brake while ste
